🔥 About today’s call…
Didn’t host it — I’ve been buried in packing boxes instead of prepping questions. Day after tomorrow, I get on a plane and relocate to Da Nang, Vietnam. Years in the making, and it’s actually happening. If you had it on your calendar, I’d rather tell you straight than pretend it slipped my mind. Next call, I’ll be hosting live from the other side of the planet. Should make for a good one. (Also — last time I was in Da Nang. This time, I’m not leaving. 🦞) More soon. 🔥

Sorry to miss the Sunday call but it's important for you to get moving! Looking forward to the next one!
🔥 Community Guidelines
This space is built on respect, honesty, and care. Please keep these in mind: • Speak from your own experience. There’s no one right way to heal or move forward. • Be kind — to others and to yourself. Everyone here is carrying something unseen. • No medical advice, diagnoses, or absolutes. What works for one may not work for another. • No pressure to share. Listening is participating. • No spam, promotions, or fixing others. If something feels overwhelming, step back. The community will still be here when you return. We’re here to support — not rush — the comeback.

@Vicki Vaszauskas welcome Vicki!
Job application
My plan is to apply for a job next week. I have not been able to hold a job in the last 4 years so I’m a little nervous. I’ve done Voulinteer work for the last year but it’s very very very part time, just a gig ya know. So im nervous but all I can do is try, a lot of people fail at things but the successful ones are the ones who can surpass the setbacks. Keep working yall.

Good luck Maura🤞!
The first module of the classroom is amazing!
I love the pace of the progression through the lessons. It's slowly builds a solid foundation of understanding in preparation of moving forward. And the fact that you are speaking in your videos through lived experience makes it all the more valuable.

The way you presented the concept of the cycles of motivation seems very astute. I have found that motivation moves in very uneven and non-linear cycles. Understanding that and not judging oneself for that is so important, because judging in itself can definitely dampen motivation. So accepting the cycles that we move through and staying in the present wherever that may be is one of the keys to moving forward, and the way you present this concept as well as the other key points is motivating in itself. Thank you..

A warm welcome to @Amiee Wyant , @Ernie Johnson , and @Vicki Vaszauskas — glad you’re all here. This space is for anyone rebuilding after brain injury, stroke, trauma, or a major life setback. Take a look around, introduce yourself if you’d like, and jump into the conversation whenever you’re ready — no pressure, just show up as you are. Glad to have you all in the Campfire.

I have reinvented my life numerous times over the years and have always found that adversity and loss have left to beautiful, surprising new paths.
