I Just Invented the Triple Fidget Handle Mug… I Think 😳
Started with some leftover clay. Ended with… this. First ball on the handle. Then a second. Then I thought why not go all in? Now it’s a Triple Fidget Handle Mug. No clue if it’s genius or completely stupid 😂 It’s drying now… next step: the kiln. I’m honestly nervous. Wish me luck 🔥

Are you going to be able to move the balls once it’s fired and glazed? How are you planning on doing it so the balls don’t stick?
My Next Glaze Challenge – Using Only Saved Inspirations
Like many of you, I get a lot of inspiration for glaze combinations from your YouTube videos and from Instagram. Thanks to @Sheila Van der Valk ‘s notebook, I’ve also started writing down combinations I see in videos so I don’t forget them.🧠📝 But when it actually comes to glaze day, I often end up doing something completely different. Either I make something up in the moment or I fall back on combinations that I already know work.🙈 So I decided to give myself a little challenge for my next kiln load.🔥🔥🔥 My kiln usually holds around 17–20 pieces, depending on the size. For this next firing, I will glaze every single piece using only glaze combinations that I have already saved on Instagram. I have a folder with glaze combinations there — some of them I saved more than a year ago.📲 The rule for this challenge: I’m not allowed to add anything new or search for new ideas. I can only use what’s already saved in my Instagram glaze-combination folder.🙏🏻 I want to challenge myself to actually use the inspiration I’ve collected over time and push myself a little outside of my usual comfort zone. And now I’m curious about you: Do you also save glaze ideas on Instagram, Pinterest, or Facebook… and then never actually use them when you’re glazing?🫟🖌️ Do you ever go back and look at those saved ideas when you’re working, or do you also tend to fall back on the combinations you already know? Maybe you’d like to try this challenge with me for your next kiln load! I’ll keep you all updated on how it goes.🤗💛

I have a whole folder on my phone of just glaze combos. With the glazes written out in the info section of the photo. This is a great challenge. I always end up falling back on a few favorites.
New Group Name Announcement 🌱
Hi everyone, I wanted to share a small but important update with you. Today, @Pat Webb sent me a personal message that really gave me something to think about. We talked about whether the name “Pottery Moms” might unintentionally discourage people—especially men or anyone who doesn’t identify as a mom—from joining this wonderful group, even though they love pottery just as much. 🔥💪🏻 That is the very last thing I would ever want. This group is meant to be open, welcoming, and inspiring for everyone who enjoys working with clay. So with that in mind, I’ve renamed the group to POTTERY PEOPLE. My hope is that this new name makes it easier for more people to feel invited and included, and to find their way into this community. I truly hope this change is okay with all of you, and that I’ve acted in your spirit and on your behalf. Thank you for being such an amazing, supportive group 💛

That’s great. I actually felt slightly weird applying for this group because I’m not a mom. I think this is a better name.
🕰️ Early Birds vs. Night Owls 🦉
There are two types of people: ☀️ Early Birds who love mornings and 🌙 Night Owls who come alive at night. Which one are you? 👉 Please vote and then comment with a GIF that represents your choice or your energy level. I’m curious to see which group we belong to — let’s get to know each other a little better 💪🏻

I'm team no sleep. I try to go to bed early, and sometimes it happens, but most of the time I'm up late just to get everything I need to do in the day. I try to sleep in, and sometimes it works, but other times I'm wide awake at 4 a.m. So, some nights I get 10-12 hours of sleep (which I love), and other nights I get 3-5 hours of sleep (which I hate).
A Shared Mosaic – My Wish for 2027✨
In August 2027, I will turn 50 years old. 🙌 Instead of gifts, I have a heartfelt wish that I would love to start realizing together with this Skool community. 🎁 My dream is to create a large mosaic wall made of individual tiles, each one designed by someone from our community. Every tile will be a personal contribution, and together they will form a place that connects us all. 🙏🏻 Over the next 20 months, I would like to collect these tiles from as many of you as possible. I especially hope that when we see each other in Baltimore, some of you might already be able to hand over your tiles in person. And beyond that, I’m planning to visit many of you anyway — so I would be more than happy to come by and collect tiles personally whenever that’s possible. 🌎 Tile specifications - Size: 4 inches × 4 inches (approx. 10 × 10 cm) - Thickness: 0.2 inches (approx. 5 mm) Design Please feel free to be creative. 🤪 Colors, patterns, symbols, short quotes, thoughts — anything that represents you is welcome. Each tile should carry a small piece of your story. By the time I celebrate my 50th birthday in 2027, all these tiles will come together as one large mosaic on a wall — a shared artwork created by people from many places, moments, and perspectives. This is my personal birthday wish, and it would mean a lot to me if you chose to be part of it.🥰 Thank you for helping to create something lasting, meaningful, and shared. 💛
