You don’t need to learn to trust, just do this instead... (and watch what happens)
I ran a live event in London this last week I spoke for 7 hours a day 3 days in a row With no planned content whatsoever I hot seat coached people, ran guided meditations and taught ideas And for the first time in the last year… I had no nerves whatsoever I was excited and looking forward to it leading up to it Why wasn’t I nervous? Does it mean I don’t care as much? Is this too good to be true? I believe that learning to trust is really a “rep game” where you allow the moment to be and your nervous system begins to regulate in the “unknown” I just got into the unknown over and over again with other live events prior in the year until my identity began to shift along with my nervous system I’ve also allowed the space and the people to pull out of me the content and ideas So the EGO doesn’t have to control and figure it all out The ego is what wants to control… to avoid pain or feel inflated Magic happens when I surrender the egos desire to control And instead trust the divine or God to flow through To be honest… Its not me as AARON DOUGHTY doing ANYTHING Therefore I just show up and allow the space and the divine to flow through The divine is in the driver seat and my job is to allow and get out of the way To get to this point though… I had to have the courage to step into the unknown over and over again This meant at times feeling the fear… and doing it anyways And eventually my body began to relax in that “unknown” energy Same was true for having vulnerable conversations I would express how I really feel… When as a kid it felt not safe to do so As an adult I’ve had to feel that same fear… and then express myself anyways And the more I’ve done it… the easier it gets and the more I “trust” Trust is not something you need to “learn” to do Trust is a natural state of being Trust is allowing what is And allowing something greater than the ego YOU to flow through The more you trust this unknown energy… the more you wire your nervous system for more love, connection and growth
You don’t need to learn to trust, just do this instead... (and watch what happens)

@Jamiu Bello I also love Afro - learning original Cuban Salsa includingAfro- Rumba, Orishas. Recently started to learn Angolan Kizomba, Semba, which is very nice, very relaxed and social. What type of Afro dances you like? Dancing is a key part of development, personally and socially, IMHO it is part of the way out for Humanity.
Self-Sabotage
So much packed into this sentence. I grew up in an environment where nothing I did was right and everything was wrong. I had no control over anything. I became conditioned to suffering; it was normal for me. I was "punished" for pretty much everything. And when there was no one else there to punish me, I would punish myself. It took a long time to see the undercurrent of this sentence. When I was in a place of fear and felt I had no control, I would seek comfort/control in alcohol, drugs, sexual promiscuity, comfort food...etc, etc. In this way I was subconsciously trying to take control but what was really happening was that I was reverting to the conditioning of suffering and punishing myself within the illusion of taking control, and the cycle would continue for many years. When "things" would seemingly go wrong "out there", I would subconsciously think that I had done something wrong even though it had nothing to do with me and the self-sabotage would continue. I eventually came to a point where I knew if this continued it would be the end of me. At about the same time 12 years ago, Spirit came knocking LOUDLY and my life started to dramatically shift. Ayahuasca came calling, teachers, masters and Gurus started to arrive seemingly out of nowhere and I began to unravel the knots of the past, clear old and worn out patterns and energies of unworthiness and the self-blame that led to the self-sabotage. Along the way I've learned that "life" is not something that you go get or control. It is to be received by trusting in Spirit, the Divine, the Universe; God; whatever you call it. When we resist and try to control life, it is messy, it's hard, it's painful; but when we drop into sweet surrender, it is the most beautiful, magical and mystical way to be.

Thank you for sharing this, the quote is also very interesting - I tend to be a control freak - which I am working on - and as you quoted self sabotage gives some much desired control over what is going to happen - nothing. Lol. Safety. Survival. Grr... "Along the way I've learned that "life" is not something that you go get or control. It is to be received by trusting in Spirit, the Divine, the Universe; God; whatever you call it." - I am also in progress on learning it... "When we resist and try to control life, it is messy, it's hard, it's painful; but when we drop into sweet surrender, it is the most beautiful, magical and mystical way to be." - Okay, lets see! :) I was on a dance workshop with an Angolan teacher, we learned the basics of original African Kizomba. He always reminded us: "Calma - Relaxa!" Just relax! Enjoy the ride!
Live life and enjoy the ride!
A quote from Father Alfred D Souza, which also helped me: "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin . At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.” I wish you to live fully, love fully ♥️ in 2025 and.... Enjoy the ride! 🌟
