Yarn over - which way?
I'm about to start on the Shifa Shawl and I find myself wondering which way I should do the yarn over. I've always just done them without thinking but have recently seen some videos online and I've a feeling maybe I've been going the wrong way! So, which way should I do them, and does it make a difference if it's on the right side or wrong side? Or is consistency the most important thing? Can't wait to start on this project, using some yarn I found the other day in my late Mum's stash. 😍

It's finished!
It's bright, it's offensive to the eyes, and it's in desperate need of a block. But it's cosy and it's mine 🥰

Oh it's amazing!
Rujuu complete
In January, my husband convinced me to make it my new years resolution to go *way* outside my comfort zone and do this mystery knit-a-long. 2 1/2 months later (after delays getting a zipper) it's finished. So many challenges met - the picking of l colors without knowing what the finished project would look like, putting a zipper into a knit garment, steeking for the first time, figuring out how to make a knit double sided zipper facing so that all my raw edges and zipper tape were completely enclosed when I couldn't find a tutorial for it, trying to source an antique brass two way zipper, etc. After a few sessions of tearing it out and reknitting (one because I changed sizes, another because I decided that transitioning from red to navy really should have hand-dyed purple in between :) and another because I decided I wanted it 3" shorter than I had it after I had finished the ribbing), my Rujuu sweater that I started on January 15 is done!

Hello, I’m not up to a yoke-along but I’ve loved knitting two of your patterns in 2025 @Zanete Hussain. Constance for my husband, and Nevaeh for me. I was knitting Nevaeh whenever I spoke with my late Mum every afternoon, and when I sat with her in the care home. The last time I saw her she snuggled Nevaeh up to her face with a big smile. Such a lovely memory whenever I wear it.

It's here on Skool and called How To Knit The Blazer! It’s a series of video demos to help with knitting the latest pattern—a top-down, iconic Chanel-inspired jacket with a cool fringe detail and a bunch of other interesting techniques. 😍 If you haven't joined the ZKAL25 because you didn't have any ZK WIPs, maybe this could be your option? ☺️ Oh, and if you’re on the newsletter, check your email for your exclusive discount code for the pattern! 🎁

Thank you Zanete. I'm currently knitting the Constance Sweater, and this video has helped me understand how to do the Japanese short rows. I've nearly finished the neckline and have picked up the sleeve stitches, so the next stage will be the Japanese short rows. I've done German, but looking forward to Japanese.

Been knitting a long time, with a couple of decades gap! Now retired with time to learn new skills.
