Hello!
Hi everyone! My name is Sélah Evergreen, I live in the prairie of Northeastern Washington, about an hour north of Spokane. I'm super grateful to be here and be a part of this community, and excited to go through the course info again to refresh myself. My husband and I own 9 acres and are on our 3rd year of making small changes to create an oasis in an otherwise open, exposed, and dry (in the summer months) piece of land. Any tips on creating shade and helping boost tree growth would be much appreciated!! And if anyone is in the area I'd love to meet up! We also have a pretty short growing season so we're working to maximize garden potential in the short warm months we have.

Hi nice to meet you. I am north of Spokane in the woods near the Canadian border.
Hi I am from WA state
Hi I live in NE Washington state USA. I have been a homesteader most of my life and have lived on this 15 acres for 14 years. It is a very different climate and soil structure from what I am used to so I have had to forget what I know and and relearn for cold, dry climate and short season with sandy, alkaline soils, I am trying to be as self reliant s possible on a very low income.

@Jim Tipton It's amazing how different the climate is between the 2 sides of the state. My daughter lives on an island over there and things grow like a jungle there. LOL!

Really this is hard to answer. I live in the woods to be away from people and dislike going to town, which is over 30 miles away. I like working with my hands and like creating. I like the quietness and peace of nature. We are very low income and it is good way to be partially self reliant.
