MAAT meter
Watched the mastering video. Noticed the MAAT meter. Is there an alternative you can think of? It seems a bit complicated..?🤓

I was going to mention the Youlean Meter 2 that is free, but @Mason Ring already mentioned it. You can buy the upgrade for it if you want but the free basic one has a lot to offer. If you have the money, Dynameter 2 is an amazing tool for metering.
LET’S DISCUSS THE NEW SPOTIFY TERMS
Are you aware of the new Spotify terms as of a few weeks ago, the end of August? If not: LET’S DISCUSS! If so, what do you think? LET’S DISCUSS! Either way, there’s not a lot of discussions out there on this (yet) …changes sort of happened quietly but in keeping with many trends discussed here and elsewhere. A Google search or a peek at the new terms is sure to be interesting…so, have a look and…LET’S DISCUSS!

The established method used over the years to use someone else's music, to collaborate, alter and work with it has been through agreements, contracts, permissions and often payments to do such. Spotify is bypassing this sacred legal method which will allow anyone to do what they want with someone's music and avoid paying for those rights. They can take any part of music for AI purposes with this latest crap. It's wrong and their newest EULA agreement is going to be the end of Spotify. I don't think you have to sign anything to agree with them other than use their platform to accept their terms. Fight back, no one gets rich off of Spotify.

@Jae Lethe the world has it backwards. We all should be able to opt in for things instead of opting out.
FEEDBACK
OK folks the time has come for me to drop a track so I can be raked over the coals. This is my solo project Ashes In the Delta's 2nd upcoming single I played all instruments and mixed and mastered and My best friend and heterolife mate is the vocalist. Let me know if you think it's launch ready. Also let me know if it's absolute garbage. I love this community and trust you.

I like what you are doing and like the vocals, but I feel the intro is way too long and loses my attention. If you shorten that once through it will make the song more commercial in my opinion. Get to the good stuff sooner so I don't skip listen.

@Joshua Roubique that’s the way to do it. Little cuts and changes go a long way. We all get attached to our creativity and hold back from the concept of “less is more”. Keep up the good music, I like what you’re doing.

I can't help you improve your music skills, but I recommend you record everything you and your band do, then listen back and hear where things need changing or improved upon. Get some serious feedback from those who do listen, and it just gets better with time.
What the heck does this knob do?
Hey, guys. Could someone please look at the screenshot I attached and tell me, for the love of all that is holy, what this little knob does? I read the user guide, which didn't click. My masters always come out getting louder on the quieter parts of my beats and parts where there are less instruments playing. I randomly mess with this knob and eventually, I find a spot that levels it out. I want to get to a point to where I just know where to set it. The rest of the compressor is no problem, although the bleed section was giving me problems, too, until I read the user guide, but afterwards, that part was a breeze to work. How do I make this "Max Gain Reduction" knob work for me?

This from the SSL User Manual. The Max GR (Maximum Gain Reduction) allows you to set a limit on how much gain reduction can be introduced, replicating the performance of older optical compressors. With a Max GR of 20dB, for example, any signals that would normally be reduced by more than 20dB will only be attenuated by 20dB. By only compressing the middle of the dynamic range you can exert some general dynamic control whilst still preserving the transients for impact.

@Dan Morehouse I haven’t used this plugin so I can’t really say much other than what the SSL manual described as I posted. It makes sense what you say. I wonder if it really is that useful, but SSL does design incredible products.
