App Idea - Looking for feedback...Maybe ask your wife/gf lol
💡I have a problem...most nights I never know what to make for dinner. I scour my fridge and my mind goes blank on what to make. I was thinking of developing an app where you can take a video tour of your fridge and/or cupboards showing AI what you is there and it can give you recipe suggestions based on what you have. It can also keep track of items based on estimated shelf life/expiry dates so eventually it knows what you have and what's probably gone or expired and adjust your inventory accordingly. What do you think of that? I need to ask more people to see if this is something they would use. I know I would use it. Eventually it could even stick with certain diets types or allergy avoidance...and could even remember what certain families members like/dislike or can/can't eat...etc.

Interesting! The good thing is in this day and age it's super easy to validate your idea and test whether this is something you should be working on. First thing to understand is what is your goal creating this app? Is this a hobby / useful tool, or is this something that you will want to monetize and make it a business? The initial goal also changes the outlook. What I did for my first company was to level up from 1) finding people (like what you're doing here) and asking them - for example, there are a lot of communities on Facebook or Reddit that might give you answers 2) then I take those who are interested, and create some mock up / prototype. For example, for my first startup it was for podcasting, so I got their info / needs and delivered it manually then asked if I was going the right or wrong direction. You can do the same with a consumer app, have some designs and show them 3) If all signs are positive then you can start to think about putting real resource behind it.
