🚰🔥 Engineers — quick one for the community:
As we head into a busy stretch, it’s a good time to tighten up the basics that separate solid work from standout work: • Double-check system flushing before handover — saves callbacks later • Take 2 extra minutes on pipe support & clipping — customers notice the finish • Label your installs clearly (especially boilers & zones) — helps the next engineer (which might be you) • Photos before/after every job — protects you and builds your portfolio Also — what’s been catching you out lately on jobs? Strange faults, repeat issues, customer habits… drop them below 👇 Let’s share knowledge and make each other sharper.

Callbacks are always 100% loss!
🔥 What’s the one job that humbled you?
Not the easy ones. The one where: * you thought “this will be quick” * then it turned into a nightmare * nothing made sense * and you had to actually stop and think Every proper engineer has had one. The job that made you realise: 👉 you don’t know as much as you think Drop it below 👇 What was it—and what actually caused the issue in the end? Let’s see who’s been through it 👀

The plumbing gods will teach you not to do that easy job on Friday afternoon at 4pm. I've had that happen to me before, sat there till the early Saturday morning! It's easy money, just going to fix that leaky faucet....not!
🔥 Apprentice Check-In 🔧
Alright team — quick one for all my plumbing & heating apprentices 👇 If you’re on site this week, I want you focusing on the basics done **properly**, not quickly: ✔️ Clean pipework (no messy cuts or burrs) ✔️ Solid joints (no “that’ll do” fittings) ✔️ Accurate measurements (measure twice, cut once — always) ✔️ Respect the system you’re working on (understand it, don’t just copy) Remember — anyone can rush a job… but not everyone can do it right. The lads who stand out in this trade are the ones who: 💡 Ask questions 💡 Take pride in their work 💡 Learn something new every single day 💬 Drop a comment: What’s ONE thing you’ve improved on this week? Let’s keep levelling up 👊

Thats sound advice right there! It pays to do the job right first time round. Callbacks are all100% loss, avoid it like the plague. It will totally ruin your business in the long run.
🔧 Real Job Situation
Customer calls saying: “My heating was working yesterday but now none of the radiators are getting hot.” Before touching anything, what are the **first 3 things you check?** For me it’s usually: 1️⃣ System pressure 2️⃣ Is the pump running 3️⃣ Thermostat/programmer calling for heat A lot of heating faults can be diagnosed in the first few minutes if you read the system properly. Interested to hear how other apprentices approach this 👇
