Board Game Designers!?
Who is working on a board game?! I am a board game designer working on a game right now called Cozy Lighthouse Keeper!

Neato! I personally have never dabbled but I know several in my circles who do. Regarding this community I believe @Mathew Georghiou mentioned in his intro that he also designs board games! Out of curiosity, how does yours work? The name honestly piques my curiosity to the point where if it were game title on Steam I'd click on it for sure! 😂 Do you have any videos, demos, artwork or docs posted anywhere on it?
[Project] Tiny Group Game
Tiny Game Project is a go, I think @Joseph Holroyd @Andrew Matzureff and Me will be the ones participating in this one, obviously if anyone else wants to join you are more than welcome too! Things to consider: The goal here is to learn, and have fun. If we completely finish the project then heck yea! but if it ends up just being a learning experience and thats all it is then, so be it. I think working together will push us to make cool stuff faster, and more effectively than we would alone. And I think the end product will be better as well! Andrew and Me talked about the potential, of setting the deadline to a month and we could continue the project if we wanted more time on it, or just call it complete at that time and move on to something else. There is still alot to fill out here, so we can continue editing this post to our hearts content! Team: Andrew, Joseph, Dani Roles: (we will need to figure these out below) Project: (tentative name) Stumble & Tumble???? I think we can go ahead and use Joseph's Pitch as our project, as he spent the time on it, and every aspect of it seems pretty reasonable and a valuable learning experience Timeline: 1 Month Details: Notes: I will edit, add what we need

@Joseph Holroyd rolls off the tongue kinda like "Shovel Knight"! 😆 Okey doke, I created the repo with the placeholder code name i mentioned before: https://github.com/AndrewMatzureff/tgc-project-easter but keep in mind we can rename it any time, just say the words! Also be sure to DM me your GitHub-linked email address so I can add you as a collaborator! You too @Daniel Becerra !

@Joseph Holroyd @Daniel Becerra same from me, I don't want to step on anyone's toes so if anyone at any point feels like maybe they could handle something that I'm working on a bit more effectively than I currently am able to (again, I'm still quite new to Unity overall!) OR anyone simply would like to transfer or expand on their current scope in a way that impacts my designated area please nobody feel discouraged from doing so or letting me know your input!
What's your favorite Game Developing Platform?
Im sure ive almost heard everybodies, but I wanted to kind of formalize it here! Mine is Godot, ive been using it from the beginning, but im starting to explore other means of making games, been learning a bit of javascript recently. Anyways whats your favorite? or What do you feel most comfortable with! 🤔

I feel like I'm so easily intimidated by complex GUIs that my "safe space" will forever be just doing everything from scratch 😂😅 I'm just now finally starting to make progress in learning Unity though so that's something! Also last night during Game Dev with Dani when you gave the little tour of the Godot editor, not gonna lie, the UI looked so sleek, minimal and streamlined it had me second-guessing my Unity adventure 🤣
Group Gaming Project Pitch
Engine : Unity Genre : Fantasy Collectathon Artstyle : 3D Low Poly (quick iterations) Levels : 2 Level 1 : The tutorial, the player starts in one room, learns to move & jump, and pushes boxes out the way with pushing spell. Enters second room with a "Well Done" and proceeds to next level Level 2 : Run, Jump and Push objects to find all keys to unlock Exit door. Protagonist : Young magician practicing magic NPCs : Rock Folk Total Play time : 20-30 mins Why this project : Unity allows players to play on the browser, and lowpoly games are easy to run on the web. Simple mechanics like jumping, collecting keys and pushing spells keep our scope low. Including NPCs allow us to get creative in our world and flex our writing muscles. Overall I feel like this project could take no more than 1 month (probably less.) Oh, and this is a rock dood I made before posting this. Floating head, just 2 legs to rig, veerryy low poly.

This does sound very neat and achievable! Although, full disclosure: I'm still new to Unity and all I have done in Unity so far is 2D stuff so I'll have some things to learn from you about working with the 3D assets. And I agree that Unity definitely is a plus in terms of portability via the WebGL build target. The only question about that I have is: if we will target WebGL I assume we will host the app on itch.io. If this is the case, will we pick a specific person's account or should we create a "community" itch.io account to host the group projects?

Or should we establish some kind of decentralized "rolling" resource ownership system where the pitch poster (or somebody else decided upon at a later time per project pitch) hosts the project in their own GitHub repo and itch.io account?
[Poll] Tiny Group Game?
I noticed some interest in collaborating, and that made me wonder, are there a group members that would be interested in making a game together? If thats the case and you are interested, just let us know with a comment, and what you be interested in helping with. Ill lay down some ground rules once i see interest! 😊 To be honest I have personally not worked in teams, very often so it would be cool to try it, but there will be things we will have to figure out on the way. I also think I would want it to be atomic level tiny 🤣

@Daniel Becerra I am willing to try any tool including Loom! If you do have a list of options though I am definitely open to hearing about them so we can check them all out!
