The concept of moral injury is brilliant. Working as a child care director during COVID, this resonated with me! This is also relevant to state mandates around science of reading. I also love the concept of autonomy supportive practices, and knowing . This is making me reconsider the finding from my own study on ECCE leadership development. Unmanageable work loads and lack of autonomy were present in many of my participants stories, particularly when they were brand new to their leadership roles. It also speaks to the importance of leadership development at all levels of the profession. So that leaders can truly understand trauma informed leadership and so that teachers can understand how to use their voice to work against the systems that perpetuate moral injury.
