If I can offer a simple gift to you...it would be to not avoid the cosmic ping. When you are invited or pointed to something that seems random - in close proximity, like twice in a few days - even if you have no idea why you'd go 'there' or do 'that' - let yourself be surprised (and go there...and do that). Sometimes the greatest gift and provision from the cosmos comes in what we consider very odd packages. I followed the ping last winter... and indeed, doors have opened I couldn't have put in a business plan or strategy. While I have books and websites...all these people have actually cared about so far is heart to heart. I'm taking many of the steps that Christoph has put together in his fantastic course, and I'm grateful to have a more expansive vision for what a life of poetry and words can mean for me and you. Our cheerleaders are waiting for us to show up. Follow the ping!

@SunnyTaira Wyatt what a heartfelt message to wake up to. I'd love to see what you're doing on substack... Please share your link as well. Mine is Https://Andreamaiwrites.substack.com I'm not in Ohio, but I see how you came to that... I'm actually in Tennessee, so not that far away. I like your story of the sketching... We share that in common, and as of November, painting, drawing and sketching has suddenly become part of the way to share and deliver. Let's connect 💫🌟🧚✨

@SunnyTaira Wyatt lovely. I subscribed to your substack. Most links can be found at andreamai.com. Of course I need to go in now and update it for the art links. Substack is primarily where I play, don't do much on other social platforms. Except YouTube. And even that has been idle for a bit. A new day is dawning... Sensing into the playgrounds.

Just start... Yes, this is really where the magic is. Dropping the notion of perfection. I probably did 150 videos that were certainly not perfect in there video production, but my heart was sure in them. Did they do much for me? Well, maybe they never served the purpose I thought they would at the time, but they unleashed such genuine and tender compassion for myself as well as getting over any sense of insecurity or doubt about being on video. It is about being ourselves... And it doesn't take big views to touch lives or make an impact. But if we're called to do something from our hearts and not our supposedly logical mind, that's when something meaningful comes together. Thank you for starting, Christoph.
Poetry books, zines, publishing
I'd love to explore with anyone here who either has books or is planning to create poetry publications . There seems to be an even greater divide between traditional publishing and indie/selfpublishing in the poetry community then other forms. And so many young poets seem to only be aware of the academic route or The traditional route... Like submitting their work and waiting for approval. And all of that feels very heavy for me, though it may be perfect for them. I have always been an independent author and publisher. And likely I always will be. As I've been sitting with what my offerings are, I'm pretty clear about it now. And It's invigorating. There is a way that is just right for each of us. While diving deep into books/zines/publications, as well as live events, speaking, open mics, readings in my area, I see that pristine piece of the puzzle that only I can fill. And feeling so much gratitude for all of us showing up in all our unique and cummunal ways.

@Tanya King who were you part of the anthologies, or you put the anthologies together with other writers? I've considered doing an anthology in the next year or two. And by doing, I mean publishing it, calling in the right poet/writers for it.

@Tanya King thanks for the details
Let Me Formally Introduce Myself
A recovering addict and single father, I use https://unguided-gentleman.blogspot.com/ as a therapeutic outlet, sharing everything from poetry to articles. Many men face significant challenges like addiction, depression, and self-doubt, often battling these struggles in silence without sufficient support. I would love to make a living at this and help others.
