One of my homies is the chef of multiple UFC fighters. He’s incredible!
Snacking (the good kind!) πŸ₯³
Who doesn't like to grab a snack from time to time? Quick, easy, satisfying. But those snacks can add up and sabotage your progress. What if there was a good kind of snack? Well there is. Exercise snacks. And they can go a long way! It can be nice to set aside an hour to go to the gym or to do some other activity, But that can also be hard to squeeze in for a lot of people. There are only so many hours in a day (as far as we know, lol). Exercise snacks let you work in some movement throughout the day. A few minutes at a time. You can also call this "microdosing". After sitting for awhile... Do a few jumping jacks, wall sits, push ups, anything really. Pace around, walk around the block or your building. Something that doesn't even really feel like much. But over the course of a day... These things can really add up! Without you having to "add" another thing (like going to the gym) to your already full day. These can also be great to shift your perspective... To overcome roadblocks / hurdles. Similar to "walk away, take a deep breath"... Because that is exactly what you're doing! So grab a snack! πŸ’ͺ😎 Are you snacking today? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

This is how I like my exercise the most. I take breaks from what I'm doing multiple times per day and do a little something to get the heart going again. It's the best!
Don't Just Stand There...
Or maybe you should. A standing practice can go a long way toward repairing an abused body. Practices like "Wuji" or "Zhan Zhuang" are all about allowing the body to return to it's natural alignment. There are many details to consider, but this video is a pretty good place to start. Coming soon there will be a course breaking down some of the specific alignments in more detail. ENJOY. *And as always, feel free to ask questions, share wins and/or struggles, voice concerns, or whatever else comes to mind.πŸ™

@Jake Hill @Tiffany Joyner Hi guys, Thank you! Yes, Tiffany I saw you joined the community! I'm excited. I've been super busy and haven't had the chance to welcome new members this week. I will reach out to you soon! For now, Falafel is so delicious! I like to soak my chickpeas for a couple of days, replacing the water every 24 hours (in the fridge, of course). Sometimes I'll even go longer and leave them out one night for them to sprout then process them in a robot coupe (food processor). They will cook in the frying process so I don't ever cook them first. I hope that helps! Also, fasting is very powerful and books are my favorite thing in the world! 😊
Tai Chi Loops - Form Opening / Hold The Ball
Here are a couple of simple opening movements to play with. The first is often called "Opening the Door". Maybe it's a garage door? As you sink your weight down, the hands float up. As you rise up, the hands drop. The second is called "Holding the Ball" or "Embracing the Moon". Think of holding a yoga ball or beach ball. There is a roundness to the position and the ball is three dimensional. If you were holding the moon, it would be heavy and you would sink from the weight. ENJOY.πŸ™

If YOU do, check out Longevity Kitchen!πŸ’ͺπŸ₯· from your fellow Tai Chi Player @Andre Uribe He has recipes and a lot of great tips about what is or isn't actually food and how to properly prepare it. AND how to not spend ALL of your time and energy doing it. He also has a great YouTube channel and is planning big things for the upcoming New Year!πŸ₯³ Professional athletes have taken his guidance, Tai Chi Players can benefit too.πŸ™
