Harper is doing the retrieve indication but doesn’t really like to retrieve metal things so I started to teach her the down indication for situations she can’t retrieve and I think she got it !

No video as it was dark yesterday but as we were working on indications outside a low growl came outta nowhere and second later a dog is barking at us (fortunately on leash) and dogs are a huge trigger for Dagny since the attack but she was able to finish her search once the dog was a bit further but still visible! The interaction was far from perfect but I am happy to see that she was able to get back to the trail so fast!
Accountability check in!

@Ave Paasuke That’s a question I wanted to ask you actually! Kong is an everyday toy that we also use from time to time as an feeding toy so I wasn’t sure about using it for indication as the scent is around them a lot.. also since I’d like to work them on real life stuff after I was wondering if it was okay to directly start with the scent I want them to work on?
February Challenge - Hover Indication 🛸
I have added challenge tab for some extra fun! 🤩 Our first challenge is Hover indication with added Distraction, Duration or Distance! Get creative and post your process in the comments! Winner gets bragging rights for the month as the hover champion! 😁🙌🏻

She offered beautiful down indication so I made sure she was standing when hovering so she doesn’t merge the two. I was a bit late on two in the middle of the session as I was putting Harper back on her place so I made sure that we got it again at the end of the session

Harper understood pretty quickly but it needs to be reinforced so she doesn’t paw it, grab it or go into a down .
Motivation and Accountability 💪🏼
To get the most out of this course let’s all make an effort to show up every day! Even if it’s for a quick check in. Motivation comes with momentum and once you see your dogs having fun learning it will be easy. It can also get overwhelming if you miss too many days in a row and have to play catchup Skool is not just a training platform. It’s a community and we want to get to know you and your dogs and cheer you on! For best results I recommend scheduling time every day to: 5min - log in to Skool and check any new learning/posts 5-10min - practice the skills with your dog/s 5min - share your training and take time to like/comment on others posts. That’s 20min of your day! Our dogs are not here forever so let’s make every day with them the best one ever ❤️ Who’s in! Let me know in comments

@Ave Paasuke Thank you! Thinking of redoing the scent course to strengthen it and work on the indication while starting with scent detection!
