This fitness test is part of the momentum created at our “What Is Possible at OPS” event at the Château Laurier, where so many of you came out to explore careers and opportunities within the Ottawa Police Service. For those running today, this is more than a fitness test. It represents discipline, commitment, and the courage to step forward toward a career in policing. Reaching Level 7 is the standard but showing up today already says a lot about who you are and the path you're choosing. Remember... Stay focused. Control your breathing. Dig deep once you hit level 5, it is all a mental game at this point... The recruiting team is cheering you on. Folks, I want to congratulate 23 people who passed their Shuttle Run today! We had 76 people registered for the Shuttle run... 5 sent email that they couldn't attend. 41 showed up.... 18 failed. 23 PASSED That left me with a total of 30 no shows.... I spoke of transparency in the interview prep this week. I will be transparent with you right now, I am disappointed in 41 people not showing up for their scheduled fitness test, no email or explanation as to why. Remember what I said, you are always making that impression of who you are, what character you have. For those that failed to show up today, you did not fail me or OPS, you ultimately let yourself down. If you found today difficult...good, let that fuel you, work hard and come back for the next Shuttle run. Please take a moment to congratulate all who passed today! Its go time!...I am looking forward to seeing your applications on Monday!
