Oh my goodness... where do I even begin? 😂
This community has grown so much over the last few months, and I suddenly realized... I never actually told you who I am! So... hi! I'm Jennifer, and I'm writing from a little town near Barcelona, Spain. 🇪🇸 I'm an American who was born and raised in Mexico City, and these days I live just outside Barcelona, Spain, with my husband, our three children, a dog, a cat, a uromastyx, and a ball python. Needless to say... our house is never boring! 😂 I've been teaching English for more than 20 years, but here's something that usually surprises people... I hated school. Not learning—I loved learning. I hated that school often expected everyone to learn the same way. I was fascinated by questions like... Why do some children thrive while others struggle? How does the brain actually learn? What makes a lesson unforgettable? Those questions led me to study Educational Psychology at Endicott College in Boston, and they've shaped every classroom I've ever taught. Sixteen years ago, I opened my own language school in Spain. I thought I'd probably spend the rest of my career happily teaching English. Then, in February 2022, everything changed. A friend in Ukraine asked if I could teach a few children online. Of course I said yes. I never imagined that one class would grow into Teachers for Peace. Today, we're a global community of volunteer educators who have delivered more than 3,750 free online lessons to 700+ learners, supported by 70+ volunteer teachers across 20+ countries. Some of our teachers live in countries affected by war. Some teach in rural communities. Some work in public schools, language schools, or universities. Others have retired but still want to make a difference. What connects us isn't where we come from—it's what we believe. That education changes lives. And that teachers have an incredible ability to create hope, confidence, and opportunity. That's why I wanted to create this Hub. Not another place filled with endless notifications or perfect-looking classrooms.

@Grace Tiffin Hi Grace, your journey is truly inspiring! Learning concentration skills from monks in Thailand and turning the wisdom into teaching emotional intelligence to kids is so remarkable. What you're building with your Skool community is exactly what so many educators and students need today. Thank you for sharing your story and it's such a meaningful impact on me.🫶

@Teachers-Educators for Peace Global Community Hub Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. They truly mean a lot to me and give me more motivation for the journey ahead. Teachers for Peace is such a wonderful community where people can share their passion, love, and empathy with students from all over the world, and I feel grateful to be a part of it. Once again, thank you to Teachers for Peace, to my students, and even to the mothers who sit beside their children and learn English together with them. I am deeply touched by their support and dedication. I look forward to continuing to contribute, even in a small way, to this amazing community. ❤️

💛 Teacher Wellbeing Check-In 🌍
It’s exam season in many parts of the world… Some teachers are exhausted. Some students are overwhelmed. And for many communities, life outside the classroom is already incredibly heavy. Some of our students are studying while: ⚠️ living through war ⚠️ displacement ⚠️ uncertainty ⚠️ stress at home ⚠️ emotional exhaustion And honestly… many teachers are carrying a lot too. So today, no perfect answers. Just a real conversation: ☕ How are YOU protecting your wellbeing right now? What helps you keep going during difficult seasons? 🌱 A walk? 🎶 Music? 😂 Dark teacher humor? ☕ Coffee? 💛 Your students? 🤝 Colleagues? 🧘 Yoga? 📚 Summer countdown? 😂 You are not alone. 🌍
