💙💛 Ukraine Students — We Want to Hear From YOU!
We are getting ready for the next chapter of Teachers for Peace, and before we decide what new classes, clubs and courses to create... we want to ask the most important people: YOU. 😊 What do you actually want to learn? What makes it difficult to join classes? What would you LOVE to see at TFP? What should always be available for free? And what could we do better? We've made a short survey for our Ukrainian students. It will only take a few minutes, and your answers will directly help us plan our new classes and courses. There are no right or wrong answers. Please be honest — we really want to know what you think! 💙💛 👉 Fill in the survey here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdrJ-C259lOTkxbPGK5fE_QD18gtMdnua5BT2_0UwX2RxdblA/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=103642998701107649686 Thank you for helping us build the next TFP with you, not just for you. ❤️ Stay tuned because we have an amazing September in the making.

💙💛 Ukraine Students — We Want to Hear From YOU!
Oh my goodness... where do I even begin? 😂
This community has grown so much over the last few months, and I suddenly realized... I never actually told you who I am! So... hi! I'm Jennifer, and I'm writing from a little town near Barcelona, Spain. 🇪🇸 I'm an American who was born and raised in Mexico City, and these days I live just outside Barcelona, Spain, with my husband, our three children, a dog, a cat, a uromastyx, and a ball python. Needless to say... our house is never boring! 😂 I've been teaching English for more than 20 years, but here's something that usually surprises people... I hated school. Not learning—I loved learning. I hated that school often expected everyone to learn the same way. I was fascinated by questions like... Why do some children thrive while others struggle? How does the brain actually learn? What makes a lesson unforgettable? Those questions led me to study Educational Psychology at Endicott College in Boston, and they've shaped every classroom I've ever taught. Sixteen years ago, I opened my own language school in Spain. I thought I'd probably spend the rest of my career happily teaching English. Then, in February 2022, everything changed. A friend in Ukraine asked if I could teach a few children online. Of course I said yes. I never imagined that one class would grow into Teachers for Peace. Today, we're a global community of volunteer educators who have delivered more than 3,750 free online lessons to 700+ learners, supported by 70+ volunteer teachers across 20+ countries. Some of our teachers live in countries affected by war. Some teach in rural communities. Some work in public schools, language schools, or universities. Others have retired but still want to make a difference. What connects us isn't where we come from—it's what we believe. That education changes lives. And that teachers have an incredible ability to create hope, confidence, and opportunity. That's why I wanted to create this Hub. Not another place filled with endless notifications or perfect-looking classrooms.
Oh my goodness... where do I even begin? 😂
Deborah... this is exactly why I wanted to create this community. ❤️ Thank you for taking the time to write all of that. I found myself smiling all the way through. The "driving and crying" part made me laugh because I think so many of us have been there. And thank you for being honest with me about where you're at. Burnout is real. That's why I told you not to rush into teaching with us. Teachers for Peace will still be here when you're ready. I'd much rather you take the time to look after yourself than feel like you've made another commitment. I also didn't realise you were a Global Schools alum! I have a feeling we're going to have lots to talk about. 😊. I am a Global Schools Advocate. Your love of books, flipped learning, the SDGs, and building real relationships with students really shines through. I especially smiled when you said you love working with the challenging students. Those are usually the ones who stay in our hearts the longest. And your last line... "It's that drop in the ocean that keeps that ocean going." I love that. Take care of yourself. Enjoy the rest of your summer, keep reading, keep singing (even if it's only to yourself 😄), and when you're ready, we'll be here. I'm really happy you found us. ❤️
@Amy Nguyen Amy, I love this. ❤️ The part about the mums learning alongside their children really got me. Those little moments are what make Teachers for Peace so special. Thank you for believing in what we're building and for being such a big part of it. Here's to another year of learning, laughter, and making a difference together. 😊
📣 Teachers... I need your help!
I've been surrounded by boxes 📦 all week while moving house, and I completely missed our Tuesday and Wednesday calls. 😭 So... next week we're making up for it! ☕ Tuesday, 11th August | 4:00 PM (Madrid) Our Teacher Coffee & Connect is back! But before we meet... 👇 Answer ONE question in the comments: If you could wave a magic wand, what would help you most as a teacher this year? ❤️ Better lesson ideas? 🤖 Learning to use AI? 🌍 Connecting with teachers from around the world? 🎥 Creating your own online course? 💰 Making extra income from your teaching? 🧘 Avoiding burnout? 💬 Something else? There are no wrong answers. I genuinely want to build this community around what YOU need. ⭐ Wednesday – VIP Teacher Hub For our VIP members, we're going one step further. We're building a community that doesn't just help learners... it helps teachers grow too. So here's my question for you... 👇 If we could bring in ONE expert to run a masterclass just for VIP members, who would you choose? What would you love to learn? 🎨 Canva? 🤖 AI? 📱 Social media? 💼 Starting your own academy? 🎤 Public speaking? 🧠 Trauma-informed teaching? 💰 Funding, grants or fundraising? 📚 Something completely different? Drop your ideas below! The Teacher Hub belongs to all of us, and I want to build it around what will help you become the best educator you can be. See you Tuesday! ❤️ Jennifer
📣 Teachers... I need your help!
Annette, I smiled when I read this because that's exactly the balance we're trying to create at Teachers for Peace. Our volunteer teachers give what they can, but we're also building a sustainable model where experienced educators can earn income through paid courses and special classes, while we continue offering free education to learners affected by war, displacement, and crisis. I really believe teachers shouldn't have to choose between making a difference and making a living. ❤️ I'd love to have you with us as we build it. In the meantime, come join us! We'd love to get to know you.
@Deborah Gilmore Hi Deborah! ❤️ Family comes first—always. Enjoy every minute with your daughter. September will be here before we know it. I also love what you wrote. A supportive, non-competitive, non-judgemental community is exactly what I hope we're building together. Teaching can feel surprisingly lonely sometimes, so it's wonderful to have a space where people genuinely celebrate each other, share ideas, and grow together. We'll miss you next week, but we'll be here when you're ready. Wishing you a wonderful time with your family... and hopefully Italy cools down a little soon! ☀️🥵 Sending peace right back from Spain. 🇪🇸❤️
☀️ Anyone up for a Summer Teacher Coffee Chat?
It's been a little quiet here over the summer... and honestly, that's okay. ❤️ I know many of you are enjoying a well-earned break, finishing summer camps, travelling, or simply taking time to recharge before another school year begins. But I thought it might be nice to get together for an informal catch-up. No presentations. No training. No pressure. Just teachers from around the world sharing ideas, stories, and maybe a few laughs over a coffee (or your favourite summer drink ☕🍉). I'd love to hear: 🌍 What are you doing this summer? 💡 What's one idea you're excited to try next year? 🤝 How can this community better support you as an educator? If there's enough interest, I'll organise a relaxed one-hour Google Meet. Would you join? 👍 Yes, I'd love to. ❤️ Depends on the day and time. 💬 Tell me what time zone you're in, and I'll try to make it work for everyone.

☀️ Anyone up for a Summer Teacher Coffee Chat?
Haha... I think the 40°C melted both of our brains! 😂 The move completely took over my life, but we're meeting Tuesday, 11th August at 4:00 pm (Madrid time). I'd love to see you there if you can make it!
🥵 I hope you're staying cool. The good news is I've finally survived the move, so let's celebrate with a coffee and a proper catch-up
☕ We’re getting ready!
In just a little while we’ll be opening the Zoom room for our very first Teachers for Peace Global Coffee & Connect! 🌍💛 I’m really looking forward to meeting teachers from around the world, hearing your stories, sharing ideas, and simply enjoying some good conversation. Grab your favourite coffee, tea, or summer drink and join us at 4:00 PM (Barcelona time). This isn’t a webinar. It’s our global teachers’ lounge. 😊 See you soon! 🍎✨
