Self-Improvement in the Sunnah: Strive for What Truly Benefits You
Assalamu alaykum brother/sister, Struggling to improve yourself despite your best efforts? You’re not alone — but the Sunnah shows us a powerful way forward. It’s easy to feel stuck or overwhelmed. The nafs whispers doubt, Shaytan tempts you to quit, and excuses creep in: “If only this was easier,” or “If only I had more time.” But that’s exactly when the Prophet ﷺ guides us to keep going. He said: “The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive to seek that which will benefit you and do not feel helpless. If something overwhelms you, say: Qaddar Allah wa ma sha’a fa’al (It is the decree of Allah and what He wills, He does). And beware of saying ‘If only,’ for it opens the door to Shaytan.” Muslim Because when you focus on what truly benefits you, your efforts become blessed, your heart lighter, and your goals clearer. Here’s what you can do right now: 1. Take 30 seconds and say, *“Qaddar Allah wa ma sha’a fa’al.”* Let it remind you that Allah’s plan is perfect, even when you don’t see the results yet. 2. Choose one small, consistent habit to build today — whether it’s a short dua, reading a few verses of Qur’an, or a good deed. 3. When the “If only” thoughts come, stop them in their tracks. Replace them with trust in Allah’s wisdom and your commitment to keep trying. Remember, the Sunnah encourages us to be patient and persistent. Your small daily efforts, done with sincerity, are better than grand plans that never start. 💬 What small step are you taking today to improve yourself? Or what’s the biggest challenge you face staying consistent? Share below — let’s support and motivate each other.

Allahumma Barik well done akhi .
Started grinding at the age of 10, reverted at 13, getting married at 16? + Hijrah?
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu, I just wanted to share a bit about my journey and what I’m working on. My name’s Diederick (Umar), and I’ve been into video editing since I was like 10 years old. I started with basic stuff on Movavi Video Editor nothing fancy, just learning the ropes. SubhanAllah, it’s crazy how far I’ve come since then. When I was around 13, I was going through some tough stuff dealing with school problems, getting bullied, and just feeling lost. Alhamdulillah, that’s when Allah subḥānahu wa ta'alā guided me to Islam, and honestly, it was the best decision of my life. For the past year and a half, I kind of lost track just wasting time and chasing dopamine, to be honest. But recently, I decided to get serious about video editing again. I’ve been putting in hours and hours at my PC, learning and improving my skills. The most important part for me is making sure it’s all done in a HALAL way so I can get the barakah from Allah (swt). Right now, I’m 15, and Alhamdulillah, I’ve had the chance to work with some big names and companies. I’m also working towards making Hijrah, hopefully in about 10 months, depending on when I can do my school exams bi’ithnillah. One thing that really bothers me, though, is seeing so many people making amazing edits but using haram stuff like music, musical sound effects, or showing faces (eyes). I want to make a change, insha’Allah, and teach other Muslims how to edit videos in a way that’s pleasing to Allah subḥānahu wa ta'alā. I’m planning to build a community where I can teach how to make a stable 4- to 5-figure income through halal video editing, bi’ithnillah. I want to help more Muslims create content that earns the pleasure of Allah while also being successful in this dunya. Jazakumullahu Khairan for the support and encouragement. Please keep me in your duas, and I hope to benefit the Ummah with this!

May Allah bless your brother, that is a noble goal . If you are teaching people how to create Islamic reminders that align with the principles of our deen , then Insha Allah it will become a form of charity for you in the next life . Keep going brother Umar you got this , Insha Allah.
Have you ready your daily portion of the Quran ?
No matter what happens do not give up on the Quran This world is a place of distractions and fitnah. Every day is fleeting and this book can either be a witness for or against you on the day of judgement. Keep trying to recite and understand it insha Allah. Imām Nawawī رحمه الله said: "Reciting the Qur'ān is the most important of adhkar, which should be done regularly. No day or night should be without and it may be attained by reciting a few verse." ● [كتبا الأذكـار للنـووي ١٢٢٥/٢] Ibn Jawzī: “The one who has Mus-ḥaf must recite it everyday of whatever is easy for him lest he be from those who've forsaken Qur’ān." ● [الآداب الشرعية ٢\٣٠٠] Ibn Abbās said: "Allāh took responsibility for who reads the Qur'ān & ACTS ON what is in it; he won't go astray in this life nor despair in hereafter. ● [مفتاح دار السعادة ٥٨/١] Ibn Mas'ood رضي الله عنه: “Qur’ān is the Speech of Allāh, uncreated, so indeed whoever loves Qur’ān then he loves Allāh.” ● [فقه الأدعية والأذكار ج١ ص٦٦] Ibn 'Abbās رضي الله عنهما: “The one who has in him no Qur'ān (i.e does not recite Qur'ān) is like a ruined house.” ● [تفسير الطبري ٩\٣٨٥] Ibn Masūd said: "Whoever loves to know that he loves Allāh and His Messenger then must look if he loves Qur'ān for he (the one who loves Qur'ān) loves Allāh and His Messenger!" ● [الطبراني في الكبير ٤٠٨٦٥٨]

Small consistent actions = big barakah 💫
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.” (Bukhari & Muslim) This applies to everything — from acts of worship to business habits.Instead of burning out chasing big wins, focus on small consistent efforts each day. That’s where real barakah and growth come from. Keep planting the seeds, and trust Allah with the results 🌱

Its true do whatever good you can and establish the tawheed of Allah , because the time we have today can end as quickly as it came. And when that hourglass is filled, it would be too late, so use this opportunity while you can dear brothers.
