Hey! My name is Alina. I'm 19 years old and live in Austria. I played volleyball from age 14 to 16 and started again at age 17. I play as a libero and sometimes as an outside hitter. Since I'm only 163cm tall, blocking is definitely my weakness, so I focus on getting better as a libero. My reflexes and my overall defense skills are pretty good :) Currently, I'm trying to improve my sidespin serve, as well as my setting skills :) I don't have one specific goal, I just want to improve with my team and be happy with my own skills. And even as a libero, I want to improve my vertical

@Lucía Redondo Hey Lucía! Personally, I felt an improvement after training my reflexes with a reaction ball, as well as doing yoga or pilates a few times a week. The slow movements helped me to be more aware of my own body. And if you have time left you should do a few sprinting exercises. For example, I used a random countdown on Youtube, that way I could train my reflexes as well. During practice, I really like the game “7 up”, it doesn’t take long and it’s a lot of fun. If you have a chance, I’d recommend recording yourself during practice. You’ll see so many things you can improve on when you rewatch it :) And for defense in general, I really like to watch random volleyball matches. That way you can either watch the movements of high level liberos or focus on the attackers and try to guess where they’re going to attack. Just watching as many games as possible and learning how to read the game helps immensely. Hope you have an amazing season as well! :D
