Offerings
At times I give dark rum offerings to my ancestors. My brother who passed was an alcoholic. I tell my brother, when presenting the rum offering that it is not for him. But at the same time I give him an offering of his favorite soda pop. I do the same thing when I give an offering of tobacco smoke. For my ancestors that I know who died from lung cancer due to smoking, I tell them that the tobacco is not for them but at the same time I give them a different offering that they enjoyed in life. Is it appropriate to tell an ancestor that a particular offering is not for them due to having had health issues surrounding it?

I personally, as a rootworker, don’t give offerings of things that were abused and misused from addiction. but if it’s things their physical bodies kept them from indulging in and they enjoyed it still i would give it. Like sweets or salty foods. They aren’t limited to their physical bodies anymore BUT an ancestor that’s not elevated can still have those addictive and toxic tendencies. they’re still people. if you give em that liquor and they would get crazy or lazy off of it the same can happen to an ancestor if they aren’t elevated properly. if you’re giving them the offering in exchange for something you might not get the outcome you want. It could be different in IFA but in hoodoo we definitely take into consideration who they were in life when we give them things as offering
Virtual Ancestral Channeling Private Sessions?
Goodmorning everyone! Apologies if it’s been said or answered before but I was wonder if Iya offers private sessions outside of the livestreams. If there’s a link or anything to book. I have put in good words about you Iya to others and they were interested in it as a service on its own.
Happy Mothers Day💕

The Year of Nervous System Healing: What Ifá Wants Women to Know
Let’s talk about something real for a moment. Many women are walking around spiritually curious, prayerful, and devoted… but their nervous systems are exhausted. The body is tight. The mind is racing. Sleep is shallow. The heart feels heavy. And when the nervous system is overwhelmed like that, everything else becomes harder — including your spiritual life. This year, the Sign of the Year (Otura Nico) for our temple speaks directly to the birth of the nervous system. When Ifá highlights something like that, it is not random. It is instruction. It is guidance about where our attention needs to go if we want to grow. And the message is clear: Take care of your nervous system. Not just your prayers .Not just your rituals.Your nervous system. Because your nervous system is the doorway through which your spirit experiences life. Your Nervous System Is the Bridge Between Spirit and Body Your nervous system is the network in your body that sends signals between your brain and the rest of you. It controls things like: • your breathing • your heartbeat • how your muscles respond • how you react to stress • how safe or unsafe you feel But here is the deeper spiritual truth that many people overlook. Your nervous system is also the instrument through which spirit communicates. When spirits speak, they rarely show up like a loud voice in the room. Most of the time the communication is subtle. A feeling in your chest.A sudden knowing.A shift in your body.A calm certainty about a decision. Those messages travel through your nervous system. If the system is calm and regulated, you can hear those messages clearly. But if the system is overwhelmed, overstimulated, or stuck in survival mode… the signal becomes distorted. It’s like trying to hear a whisper during a thunderstorm. What a Dysregulated Nervous System Looks Like Many women don’t even realize their nervous system is dysregulated because they’ve been living that way for years. Here are some common signs: • Feeling constantly anxious or on edge
