Democracy at its core is rotten and broken and it will lead to its own downfall. Many philosophers have already pointed out that giving everyone the right to vote would lead to governments ellected by feelings and promises of quick growth which comes at the expense of the long-term success of the country. That is especially noticeable in modern democracys of the recent centurys. From the nazi victory in germany to the 1917 ellection in Russia, they were all democratically ellected by the people, the poor uneducated people. And I believe such democratic victorys are not far from our times. As someone from Lithuania I have noticed a decrease in freedoms (the goverment is sueing the main TV channels for criticising the goverment and police visits people who make "anti goverment" posts on media) and a quick rise from far right groups. And from what I have seen in news such groups are rising across Europe, Germany, France, United Kingdom and Italy currently has a right wing PM. For me it is clear that democracy has and will ultimately fail us, only being a transitional period between monarchy and perhaps a new system of ruling. That is unless it somehow changes, which I do not believe in happening. What are your opinions on democracy, its future and what will take over after it? And what would you like instead of democracy?
