Here's a business model I've changed my mind on this year. In 2025, I launched a parody account for a startup. It took off immediately and has grown to be a massive account. I thought this could be a new service - launch these parody accounts for startups and help them gain attention & push traffic to their serious content. Sold a couple more of these since then, but I no longer want to do more of them. Here are a few reasons why: 1. Each good account is a true unique, one-of-one creation. The first account to do something original is great, but the second or third version is just a lame copy that no one likes. So to do this for numerous brands, I need to come up with a truly unique concept that no one has done before. 2. It takes an enormous amount of work to start an account from zero. Even charging $8k/month for it often isn't worth the amount of time it takes to be on X all day replying and posting to get an account going. 3. I have no control over what happens with the account. If I'm going to create something from scratch, I'd rather control it. 4. The humor feels too forced usually. If a company comes to me and says "create a parody account for us", most likely the concept I come up with just wouldn't be as funny as an account I create because I have a good, original idea for an account. In conclusion - I'm still writing parody accounts, but being extremely selective about which ones I work on. Don't think there is an opportunity for some "scaled up" version of this parody account creation offer.

Hi everyone, I've been following Charlie for a little while, and I recently purchased the How to Post guide. I'm interested in learning how to write online and, hopefully, turn it into a side business. I already write in my spare time, but it's mostly about history, religion, culture, and anthropology. Right now, I'm currently working on a book about the history of different religious movements.
