How did your relationship with fitness, routine, or health change after the military? I've already said that my fitness started with the military. When I joined, I couldn't even run 2 miles in basic training. By the end of 8 weeks, I could run it, but not as fast as they required me to. When I got stationed in Italy, I used to run every other day and I got better. But as I aged, running gave me hip stress fractures so I had to stop. But I have kept doing exercise every day with dvds. I do aerobics and weight lifting. I like Denise Austin, Kathy Smith, Tony Horton, and Jillian Michaels. I do a different one each day. Does anyone else exercise with dvds? Or any online fitness gurus?

It took Southern cooking to do what the Army could not: I became all that I could be and gained weight to the hefty sum of 285 lbs. One of my best friends said that I carried it well enough but wasn’t fat; that I was “PUDGY!” Then came a diagnosis of an esophageal condition (which no one in my family ever had) that made it difficult to eat or drink. Between that regularly working out, I dropped to a skeletal 110 lbs. Since then I have managed my health as best as I could & worked out consistently at home and my local gym. Up to 185-ish lbs and striving to get stronger but it is a long game that one must commit to doing.
