Amazing Q/A Session today
Big shoutout to @Deleted for leading an Amazing Q/A session today that was super insightful on what goes on behind the scenes for the recruiting org. Most of the conversation was centered around the question "How do you set time aside to find your job when you're trying to juggle multiple projects at work at the same time?". Here is the recording and the notes below. [MPH]Weekly Q/A - February 21 VIEW RECORDING - 33 mins (9 mins of highlights) Prioritizing questions in Q&A sessions @ 5:09 The group discussed submitting questions ahead of time using a shared document to help structure discussions. Nina suggested a voting system to prioritize the most popular questions. Google hiring assessment strategies @ 9:56 Victoria detailed Google's new lengthy behavioral assessment, the anxiety it caused her, and different passing strategies others reported. The group emphasized maintaining authenticity over extreme answers to avoid future issues. Being authentic in interviews and assessments @ 12:42 Nina and others encouraged interviewees to represent themselves authentically to determine the right opportunity fit, rather than altering their personality. They noted the importance of information exchange for both parties. Applying within 1-2 days of posting @ 21:11 Nina shared that recruiters focus on the first wave of applicants to fill roles quickly. She advised consistency applying to the freshest roles to avoid getting lost in large applicant pools over time. Victoria asked how to manage risk with short postings.
