✨ Let’s Make Today Sparkle ✨
Mondays are often met with resistance. They arrive quietly after the weekend and ask us to shift back into routine before we’re ready. I’d love to shift that energy here. Instead of pushing through Monday, what if we treated it as a reset? A time to notice how we’re feeling and begin again without the pressure to do everything at once. Optional art journaling prompt: Take a blank page and write the word Today or Monday somewhere on the page. Pause for a moment and notice how your body feels right now. Without trying to fix or change anything, intuitively choose colors, marks, or shapes that reflect your current energy. If it feels right, you might add words or phrases that describe: • what you’re carrying into this week • what feels heavy • what feels supportive or steady There’s no right way to do this. You don’t need to fill the page or make sense of it... just let the process be intuitive and simple. If you’d like, take a moment to reflect: • How do you feel after creating? • What might help today feel a little lighter or more supported? You’re welcome to share a word, a photo of your page, or read along quietly. As always, there's no pressure to participate, but we're here for you if you do! ✨ You can also check in using the poll below. How is this Monday feeling for you right now?

I’ll share some truth about my day. I’m tired because my 11 year old is a night owl and needed my comfort last night, but I’m here. I’m also overwhelmed with all the things that need to get done. When I have hard days I like to make time to sit down and create something with my hands. That probably won’t happen today, so instead I took some pretty photos. Any sort of creative energy always helps. I could potentially print these out and use them for journaling another day. šŸ’•
Art Therapy Practitioner, Teacher and Lover of all things Creative
Hi, I’m Aimee! I created this space because art journaling has been such a grounding outlet for me when life feels full or loud. I have a background in art and teaching, and I truly believe the world would be a better place if more people made time to sit down and create. I use creativity as a way to unwind and make sense of what’s going on inside emotionally. I’ve even turned to art during moments of anxiety when words felt hard to find, and it’s been one of the most supportive tools for helping me reset. I’m really glad you’re here and excited to create alongside you. šŸ’›

@Daisy Diaz Welcome! šŸŽØ I love what you shared. There really isn’t a right or wrong way to art journal. I believe it looks different for everyone and is often guided by intuition and life experience. This space may feel a little different than other art journaling clubs because I focus more on the therapeutic side of creating, not just the finished page. I’m really glad you’re here!

@Ale Lr Hi! Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. I love that you work with watercolors... it’s one of my favorite mediums too. Art journaling can be such a supportive way to slow down and explore emotions, especially if it’s new for you. There’s no right way to do it, just take it at your own pace. Really happy to have you!
My Most Recent Art Journal Page
I wanted to share a recent art journal page I made. This one came from wanting a quieter headspace. I wasn’t aiming to finish a page or make it look a certain way. I followed what felt grounding in the moment and let the layers build naturally. Sharing this as an example of what process-led art journaling can look like. There’s no right or wrong way to do this. Sometimes the page makes sense right away, sometimes later, but often it’s just about being with the process. šŸ’› If you feel called to share your own work here, you’re always welcome. And if not, that’s okay too.

I used collage making supplies from magazines and oil pastels. Oil pastels are very soft and fluid, which add to the calming process. Highly recommend!
šŸ•Šļø A Gentle Note šŸ•Šļø
I want this to be a safe place to create, share, and show up honestly, especially on the days when things feel heavy or anxious. This free space is meant to be really low pressure. A place to slow down, try things out, and get a feel for art journaling without worrying about how anything looks. It’s about the process, not the result. So many of us carry the pressure to ā€œmake it look good,ā€ and that can take the joy right out of creating. Please ease into your art in a way that feels supportive. Skills and techniques can come later, if and when you want them. There’s no expectation to finish pages, share your work, or follow prompts. Sometimes creating is just about sitting with a feeling for a few minutes and letting the marks speak for you. I’ve been there too. There were times when art journaling was one of the only ways I could release.. That’s a big reason this space exists. You’re always welcome to share here if you need support and it’s just as okay to read along quietly. This is meant to be a gentle, respectful place where understanding comes first.

@Marie Shelton This is absolutely wonderful! I'm so glad you were able to find words intuitively and make sense of them. This is exactly the outcome I hope for when doing the therapeutic creative lesson. ✨
