...but luckily that wasn't true! Okay, kind of it was or let's put it this way: Combining a career as a German native actress and voice-artist and moving abroad to Namibia didn't come without its challenges but I am glad I went on this journey which required me to rethink the freelance-artist mindset and become a creative entrepreneur. Today I am the proud owner of a digital audiobook publishing house (all productions are entirely remote with authors and narrators from mainly Germany, Switzerland and Austria). I have produced and published 77 audiobooks and my goal is to have a portfolio of 100 by end of this year. I am also working on other productions - this year I have narrated 10 documentaries already and a contract for 10 more is to follow. My first digital product was an audioguide app for Namibia and I am still busy improving that one further. I am also writing my first novel and had a casting for a movie last week in the final round (from time to time I still get to be in front of the camera instead of just in front of the mic). Excited to be here and can't wait to see what I can learn from everyone.

How often do you struggle to do the things you know you need to? How often to you keep choosing short term comfort over your long term goals? Do you get stuck in making decisions based on past fears, present stress, and apathy? You want to build a better business and life, and yet you often end up choosing the easy or convenient option that doesn't align with that aim? I think this is a common problem that most of us face at one point in our life or another. But how do we change it? A simple framework that I use (because who has time for complexity), is what I call the Future State Decision Matrix. If the current you is making the wrong decisions based on past fears, then you need to step out of that version and into a version of you that is wiser, has achieved the goals you want to achieve, and who knows what steps to take to get there. This might sound strange. How can we step into our future self? The thing is you're already doing this, just based on the past where many of your mistakes are, instead of the future where your goals and aspirations exist. Once you realise this, it becomes easier to imagine this process. If you already decide based on things that no longer exist, then why not start deciding based on things that don't YET exist, but through your decisions are brought into existence? If you want to try this process out, just download the pdf. You can fill it out on your computer or phone. The point here is to practice this to the point where you can do it intuitively in your head every time you need to make an important decision you're avoiding.
