Online Tutor, Content Creator and Musician
Hi Everyone! I have been working full-time as an online English Tutor for more than a year, but I started teaching on the side about 4-5 years ago. I am currently going through a summer break, as the majority of my students are gone for the season. I enjoy teaching, but I want to build up additional income streams to get through times like this, and to upscale my income so that I can travel more. I am thinking voice acting, narration and paid production or songwriting jobs, as I am also a songwriter and music producer. I'm excited to learn how to build up my dream lifestyle. š„°

Hey @Petra Szalay , Welcome to Remote Income School and thanks for your introduction š Do you teach English on your own or are you with a platform? š Totally understandable that summer time is less busy as everyone is out and about. Seems like you already have a lot of great ideas to to fill that gap! I have a few questions to help point you in the right direction š When it comes to voice acting and narration etc, have you done any of this before even casually, or is it something you want to explore from scratch? š Is your main goal to fill the income gaps during slow season, or are you thinking bigger picture, building something that eventually replaces tutoring completely? Btw, I also think you and @Jana Marie Backhaus-Tors have a lot in common. š

@Petra Szalay Okay great! :) What I love for you is that English tutoring online is something you can take anywhere. So it's not something you need to leave behind, it's a really solid backup while you're building towards the other things that you want to do. š What I would suggest is to do a bit of research between the voice acting, narration, and music route. Ask yourself: which of these can I most easily do while travelling? What kind of clients or jobs fit a nomadic lifestyle? How would it work with your equipment if you were to travel? You can even drop this into ChatGPT or Claude and brainstorm it properly. And as hard as it sounds, pick ONE direction first. I know it's not what anyone wants to hear when you have multiple passions, but you'll get there so much faster if you build one thing up properly before adding the next. You can always expand later, but focus now will save you so much time and energy. šŖ Once you've picked your direction, you can get started with the Kickstart Challenge inside the Classroom. Getting clear on what you offer, who your ideal clients are, and building your brand and foundation around that. You'll need this in order to start reaching out to potential clients, which I will teach more about in the 1% challenge that is coming soon after my little nomad trip. š

Okay I am SO excited for this week š„¹š On Thursday I'm making my way to Bansko for šš®š»ššøš¼ š”š¼šŗš®š± šš²šš and I genuinely cannot wait. š If you don't know what that is, think 700 nomads taking over a little mountain town in Bulgaria for 10 days of talks, connections, and a LOT of fun. š I'll be sharing updates along the way but fair warning, I might be a little quieter than usual during that time. š«¶ (Follow my stories on IG for full behind-the-scenes) šš²šæš²'š ššµš®š'š šµš®š½š½š²š»š¶š»š“ šš²ššš¶š¼š» šš¶šš² š š
