I’m a Black Millennial mom from the PNW and I want to make content that is true to my identity and experiences. The pillars of my brand and my “Why’s” are as follows: Brand Pillars: Witty • Authentic • Fun My Three ‘Why’’s” 1. Share my digital diary - the internet is first and foremost for ME. I want to document my life and hopefully it’s interesting enough for other people to share in the journey with me. 2. Showcase Blackness in the PNW - I don’t think there is an accurate depiction of how “we” show up and show out in the Pacific Northwest. There is a small but rich Black culture in Washington/Oregon/Alaska and we’ve made and continue to make great changes in the PNW. 3. Entertain people with my brand of humor - I think I’m witty and entertaining. My humor is definitely influenced by my surroundings and upbringing, so I hope others enjoy MY brand of it. Hey everyone! My (real) name is Kemi Doll and I am a gynecologic oncologist (surgeon), scientist, coach, and author based in Seattle, WA. I'm primarily based on IG @Kemi Doll My WHY is that I want improve the womb/gynecologic health of Black women throughout our lives which in turn will change and improve gynecologic care for everyone. I'm online because I realized after a decade of publishing scientific papers, none of it matters if the knowledge doesn't get out in the world. I wrote my book (A TERRIBLE STRENGTH) for the same reason. My 3 brand pillars are: informative, real talk, and womb health/science. My *favorite* piece of content right now is a reel I did on a recent NY Times article about gynecology. My *most popular* piece of content right now is a reel I did on coffee and endometriosis - but I try to do videos like this sparingly because the comments drive me insane 😅.

Content I'm Most Proud Of (Two creative ventures immediately come to mind): FEMMEPREMACY began as a small party inspired by my evolving political identity, growing participation in queer spaces, and exploration of my own queerness. It became a community staple, earning recognition from AFROPUNK and The New York Times. What began as an idea grew into a space for culture, creativity, celebration, and connection. THRONE.SJ, my former crochet line, was rooted in family and legacy. My grandmother and mother made blankets for me before I was born, and years later, my mother and I took crochet classes together as a way to reconnect. That shared experience eventually became a creative business that sustained me emotionally and financially after college and earned my first press features. Both projects remind me that creativity can build community, preserve history, and connect generations. This next chapter is about bringing that same intention to my own voice and perspective. Excited to learn and grow alongside everyone!
