This is exactly what I built this community for.
Every one of you showed up today. Jay asked a simple question about camping with his kids. And y'all delivered. Real advice. Personal stories. Practical tips. Nobody showed off. Nobody sold anything. Just people who go outside helping someone else get started. That's it. That's the whole thing. This is what I've been building toward — a place where you can ask anything, no matter how basic it feels, and the community shows up for you. Jay — your girls are going to remember this. 🏕️ Thank you all. 🌲 Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

@Theresa Elliott right? I’ve heard of hiking boots getting chewed… That would be horrid! Where do you keep your boots overnight when you’re backpacking?

@Rodney Thompson Outdoor Skills stealthy little rascals!
Most underrated piece of camp gear nobody talks about?
I'll go first — a good headlamp beats half the stuff people obsess over. Your turn. 👇

@Brandon M I guess it depends where you live and the direction of weather and how much gas (or hiking) you're willing to expend!

@Brandon M yuck 🤢 me neither! It looks like a photo from the Klondike gold rush!
My kids want to camp, any tips?
We have two tents and it has been 10 years since I camped. My girls are 3 and 7. My wife says let them test camping in the yard. What do you all suggest?

For your own children, and your own yard first makes 100% sense. Once you’ve done that, maybe the seven-year-old will want to have a friend in your own backyard… The three-year-old probably not quite yet… So many good memories of tent, time with friends in our backyard, giggling and eating chips into the night.
