My biggest challenge has been teamwork, collaboration, and accountability now that I am the main person in my business. I used to have a team which was really helpful because we'd have team meetings and such. But now that I am wearing all the hats, I'm lacking that daily and weekly motivation and "think tank" of sorts.
How do you all appraoch the week in terms of planning for it?
There are a dime a dozen ways to plan and manage your week. I’m curious to learn yours 👀 Here’s what I do: 1. I use several Outlook calendars that overlay each other: 2. At the start of the month, I set up my weekly template (image attached). I drop in non-negotiables first (school runs, workouts 💪) and then add blocks for deep work, admin, and free-choice work. 3. Before each week begins, I replace template blocks with specific tasks. For example, a “Deep Work” block becomes “VJ project work.” 4. My main calendar is the work one, so everything goes in there (including personal) to avoid double-booking. 5. For in-person appointments, I add buffer time before and after (I call it b/out 🚗). I'll also add in prep time if needed for virtual appointments. 6. The personal calendar is really just for my kids’ activities. If it only needs me to remind them, it stays on personal. If I have to pick them up, it also goes on my work calendar. 7. Everything is color-coded (same colors and categories across all calendars) so I instantly know what type of appointment it is. 8. I adjust daily as things change. So bascially, the flow looks like this: - Monthly: plan the big picture - Weekly: pre-plan details - Daily: adjust as needed And repeat... Things I DON'T DO: - Duplicate recurring commitments in both calendars (too cluttered). - Beat myself up if it doesn’t go to plan. Life happens 🤷‍♀️ - Waste time making my calendars “pretty” or "perfect". These are tools that need to be functional, practical, and easy to maintain. Real-talk: if you need 'pretty', then have at it, but don't fool yourself thinking you're doing actual IPA (income producing activity). Now that I’ve shown you mine 😉… your turn! What tool, routine, or proecess do you use to plan your week?

Oh my god, this is crazy! I really feel like I found my people. LOL. I am doing a lot of what you guys have shared here, essentially all of it. And I really do like the roles and goals piece. It's a great way to check in on high-level if I'm fulfilling on the different areas of life that are important to me. I'm sure you've all heard this before, but I like creating my ideal week. If I ever have a change in environment, say I travel to Mexico for two months, I redesign my ideal week based on how things were there. For example, it was really hot in the middle of the day, so I wanted to have a bit of rest and a siesta in the middle of the day vs workout. I started waking up at 4:30 to go for a walk and do a workout earlier than I normally would. I do this in Google Sheets with the template I have, so I can look at different times in my life with different priorities and different environments and review the different ideal weeks I've tried out.

I've also started using a small Moleskin pocket size and writing things out because I feel I get lost in the digital world. Having the tactile book is really motivating me to check things off and not get distracted by all the different apps on my computer. I used to use Todoist because it's really powerful and integrates with so many different platforms.
Hello!

Nice to meet you @Nirmala Harripersad
Hi everyone 👋
I’m Sandra and I’m so happy to be here! I live in the UK (so you’ll probably see me posting at odd hours compared to Lena 😅). A little bit about me: I have my own business (which is fairly new), and I love learning how to make work and life simpler. I’m especially drawn to anything that helps small business owners save time and feel less stressed. Outside of business, I like running, podcasts, and spending time with my family...meet my little cat Lula who is also a part of our family. I joined this group because I’m excited to learn, grow, and connect with all of you. Looking forward to seeing where this group goes and getting to know you all 💛
