Etsy's seller protection isn't always what it's cracked up to be, or at least for me
Had a situation recently I want to share so others can learn from it. Customer ordered 3 prints (18x24), everything went smoothly, delivered within my estimated timeline, no issues on my end. Then the customer messages me saying the package got stolen after delivery. I reached out to PrintShrimp support asking if I could send a replacement. They actually came back and told me to direct the customer to Etsy support, and that I'd be covered under the seller protection program since delivery was confirmed. So I did exactly that. Spoiler: I was not covered. Etsy deducted the amount from my account anyway. Delivered on time. Confirmed delivery. Followed the recommended process. Still got hit. Just wanted to put this out there because I went into that situation thinking I was protected, and I wasn't. Worth knowing this is possible before it happens to you. Has anyone else run into something like this? How did you handle it?

@Mihai Volintiriu Yes I contacted them 3 times so far, they haven’t been helpful or they’ve just disconnected from my chat. They said the reason was cause the customer never got their order delivered, which isn’t true as it did and I have tracking attached to the order as proof. Honestly just a case of horrible customer service from Etsy.
Listings removed from pages
So I recently noticed that my views dipped by a large amount, I would get at least 800+ views daily with over 200 visits a day minimum, and now i'm barely passing 50 visits. I thought this was normal and just hoped it would pass, but decided to just check if they were appearing normally in the search, and of course they weren't at all, none of my listings show up when I search them up. I can search the exact title and it still doesn't, it's like i've been removed from Etsy. Has anyone experienced this or can anyone help me out as to why this is happening. Thank you.

@Adam Wilkinson Yeah they're down too, makes sense less views correlate with less sales, just gotta hope for the best and see what happens

PrintShrimp Software SNEAK PEAK
Hey guys, watch me use our software to: 1. Generate mockups 2. Generate title, description & tags 3. List to Etsy All in under 60 seconds!! This will be a paid feature of PrintShrimp. We are looking for 3 testers to use it this weekend (for free) We plan to launch this within the first 2 weeks of May. There will be a small free plan that you can use to see how much time this saves! Using this software, it will be much easier for you guys to reach 1,000 listings, which is a good benchmark for a solid Etsy store (providing your products are good!) This is a bulk tool. It means you could drag and drop 500 print files and have them uploaded to Etsy with mockups, titles, tags, description in a matter of minutes! PS: You will be able to use our basic listing tool for free to list products to Etsy, but the usage of AI and mockups will cost money. A handful of you have already tested it and we have had fantastic feedback :D Let me know if you want to test this weekend :) We can give 3 more spots away.

Changing Niches from Risky to Safe
Has anyone ever gotten hit with a policy violation on Etsy, decided the niche wasn’t worth the risk anymore, and completely switched niches, and it actually worked out long term? I’m curious how the transition went: - How long did it take to see traction again? - Did you reuse the same store/brand or start fresh? - Anything you’d do differently in hindsight? Would be happy to hear real experiences, especially from anyone who moved from a higher-risk niche to something safer.
Long-Term Growth Question: Who’s Scaled Posters Outside of Etsy?
Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing good. I know most of us sell mainly on Etsy, but I’m wondering if anyone here actually runs Shopify (or any off-Etsy site) as their main store. If you do, how has it been? Is it actually sustainable long term? A little about me: I’ve sold 600+ posters on Etsy so far, and I’m really grateful for it. But I’m at a point where I want to start building something outside of Etsy. As great as Etsy is, it never feels 100% secure, one random policy change or issue and your whole shop could disappear overnight. I don’t want my entire business depending on one platform forever. So I’d love to hear from anyone who: - Uses Shopify as their main source of sales - Has built something that isn’t fully tied to Etsy - Or teaches/mentors people on how to grow this into a more long-term, stable business Any honest advice, experiences, or direction would mean a lot. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies. 🙏

@Callum Massey Hello, thank you for the tip! I am quite interested in what you're doing and your skool community, so I decided to join and check it out. I truly do wanna make this a long term thing, and don't wanna let go of what I have turn into waste.
