📚 One of the best books I've read on ADHD is Split Second by Adam Tilove. I think it's a must read for anyone with ADHD. It gives you real insight into what's happening under the surface in that moment right before you stall out. Tilove calls it the Recoil Window ⏱️, that split second between deciding to do something and actually doing it, where most of us lose the day without even noticing. He breaks down the Six F-Loads 🧠, the things that are quietly loading you up before you ever sit down to work. Fog 🌫️ when you don't know where to start. Flood 🌊 when you have too many options pulling at you. Friction ⚙️ when you know exactly what to do but can't make yourself start. Fear 😬 when you're stalling at the last inch. Fracture 🪞 when the action doesn't match the story you tell about who you are. Fatigue 🔋, real or faux. Then he names the Offramps 🛣️, all the things we do instead of the work. Sedating, Drift, Control, Hand Off, Hail Mary, Restart. Once you can name which one you're taking, you can catch yourself before you're three hours deep in it. Put those two pieces together, the load that's hitting you and the exit you're about to take, and you finally understand your own ADHD instead of just living inside it. 🙌 Highly recommend this one. Anyone have suggestions on additional books worth the read? 👇
