You can add a screen for resolution as part of the workflow for standard work items. So when you move the work item to Done or whatever is your final state is it will trigger a rule to request input from a screen that has the resolution field on it. This forces people to choose the resolution. Note, resolutions are defined globally here https://qut.atlassian.net/secure/admin/ViewResolutions.jspa. See below for an example.

btw, haven't tried this in a TMP so the choose your own adventure option may not suit the solution🤔
