🗓️ Weekly plan 4-10 October
A good weekly plan is absolutely critical to ensuring you continue to make solid progress week in, week out. New here? Use this formula. Ask yourself "What would I really like to get done over the next 7 days to make huge progress towards my long term goals" Then split your answer into two groups: General: [Your usual weekly plan — school, work, life] Bloom: [What you'll do this week to improve your study system itself] It's easy to get tunnel-visioned on school work alone as assignments and exams feel urgent, so they eat your whole plan. The "Bloom" column forces you to protect time for upgrading how you work, not just doing more of it. Still feel uncertain? Head to the Daily/Weekly Plans channel and look through some previous plans for inspiration Your ultimate goal is to have some metric to compare against at the end of the week to determine if your week was a success.

@Harry McKerihan Night routine 1. Set just one alarm with my fav music 2. Keep my phone on my desk, so that I'll have to wake up 》open the curtains 》freshen up. 3. To avoid doomscrolling/series/youtube videos - use an app blocker. 4. Don't think of any other tasks except waking up early or else I'll just keep on thinking of the work and avoid getting up early. Morning routine 1. After waking up 》open the curtains 》turn on the light for few minutes 》freshen up》morning walk

Turning coaching into a simple but comprehensive system
Hey guys, one thing I'm super wary of is not overcomplicating the coaching process. I want to make it as simple as possible to make this an easy process for each and every one of you, whilst ensuring we continue to maximise results. I've come up with a 3 stage process to coaching which I think will help whilst giving you all clarity on what you should be doing: The approach to coaching is similar to the way a doctor operates. You (the patient) bring me a list of problems / symptoms, and it is my job to ask questions to collect the information that I need to make a diagnosis about what the underlying problem is. We then work together to come up with a strategy to address the underlying problem. Over the coming days and weeks, we continue to tweak the strategy according to any issues that come up until it is right. We then stick with the strategy until it feels automatic, at which point we can move onto the next problem. In practice, this looks like: Stage 1: Diagnose 1. Conversation about the biggest issues you are currently facing, and what is causing them, ultimately leading to the first version of a strategy to fix the problem Stage 2: Iterate 1. Create an “Experiment” which is your action plan to implement the strategy, and a “Prediction” which is what you expect will happen as a result of your “Experiment" - This will make up the “Tomorrow” section of your Daily Check-In - For example: Experiment: I will install an app blocker to block instagram at 9pm Prediction: I think this will help me get into bed and go to sleep earlier 2. Note the “Result” of your experiment, “Compare” the result against the prediction, and create a “Hypothesis” of why you think the result matched/did not match the prediction. - This will make up the “Today” section of your Daily Check-In - For example: Result: I ended up watching Youtube on my laptop Comparison: This did not match my prediction as I still went to bed at 11pm Hypothesis: I can still easily consume media on devices other than my phone

I might need some time to understand the new system, till that time I will find out what kind of problems do I come across.
Daily Check-In - Tuesday 6 October
This is your space to practise reflection and planning, two skills that are just as crucial to your results as anything you're learning in Encoding or Retrieval. New here? Use this formula. It's built to take under 2 minutes, so there's no excuse not to do it daily. Day [X] Today: [Win/Draw/Loss + Justification] Tomorrow: [A 1% improvement to make tomorrow slightly better] Already doing Self-Management work? Swap the formula for your own deeper daily reflection (Kolb's) and plan. It's the same underlying process, just with more depth. Key rule for "Tomorrow": your 1% improvement must be a change to your system or process rather than just a task on your to-do list. - ✅ System change: "Deleting Instagram from my home screen" → benefits every day after this one, automatically. - ❌ Just a task: "Do a physics past paper" → helps once, then you're back to zero. Remember, always progress over perfection

Day 56 🪻 Today : [ yesterday I slept at 11 pm, without using phone 30 mins prior to my bedtime] Result: ●Woke up at 8 am ●morning walk ● managed to complete 1/2 chem chapter Compare: ● I had expected to study for more than 6 hours today, since I took a leave but could only study for 3 hours. Hypothesise: I think I lost more than 3 hours because of - Losing my focus repetitively I was distracted by youtube videos I felt unproductive Experiment: sleep without using my phone 30 mins prior to bedtime Keep phone on my study desk so that I'll wake up, turn off the alarm and immediately go to wash my face. Tomorrow Experiment: ● wake up 》wash my face 》morning walk ● revise chem notes ● complete 1 chemistry chapter and block 1 of physics + 2 blocks of physics basics Prediction: if I'll be able to achieve this I'll feel excited for the next day, since I've completed all my tasks of the day.
Approach for weekends
Not sure if you guys feel the same way, but it feels to me a bit as though I lose momentum a bit through saturday/sunday without a daily wrap up. ik we have the weekly review/plan instead but it doesn't quite help maintain that same momentum throughout the weekend Wanted to put this to you guys first, but do you think it would be worthwhile having a short daily wrap up on saturday/sunday as well as the weekly plan and review?

Day 55 Today : I've been sick since 2 days now, Wasn't a productive day, had to rest after classes or else I would've been more sick by now. Tomorrow: I'll rest and update if I study as per my schedule. [ I'm a bit disappointed with myself of how I'm falling sick every now and then and not able to achieve the goal by the end of the day, gotta make my immunity stronger 💪🏻 ]
