Thanks @Donna Thornton for letting me share this... Something small happened today that actually feels pretty big to me. 𝗜 𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲. And honestly, the number isn't what I'm most excited about. It's everything that happened before it. In August, the channel started picking up: 𝟭𝟰𝗞 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝟭𝟱𝗞 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝟭𝟲𝗞 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝟭𝟴𝗞 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 And VidIQ now has the channel in the 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝟮𝟱% 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝗞 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀. But when I look back, the biggest thing I learned wasn't about views. It was about 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆. Because when you're starting something new, your brain gives you a hundred reasons to wait. "𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵." "𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨." "𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩." "𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐'𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵." I had those thoughts too. But eventually you realize... 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁. You start. You learn. You improve. And confidence comes from seeing yourself make progress. I'm still at the beginning of this journey, but I'm documenting the process and sharing what I'm learning through YouTube. And now I'm curious about everyone here: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄? Maybe it's a YouTube channel. Maybe it's a business. Maybe it's a personal brand. Maybe it's something completely different. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻?

A Conversation With the People Behind Schoology
𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. I got the chance to sit down with @Donna Thornton & @Todd Thornton from Schoology for a proper conversation about communities, online business and what actually happens behind the scenes when you're trying to build something people care about. We ended up talking for way longer than I originally expected. One of the things that stood out to me was Donna talking about how creating courses and resources came naturally to her because of her education background. But 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲. And that eventually led into a much bigger conversation about messaging, entrepreneurship, community building and figuring out what actually works. We also broke down 𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. 🎙️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗕𝗖 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁: YouTube Link Would love to hear what you guys think. And @Donna Thornton & @Todd Thornton thank you again for taking the time. This was a fun one.

@Donna Thornton Haha Donna, did you actually get a chance to watch the episode? 😂 If you did, I’m not seeing your comment on the video yet lol 👀 Would love to hear what you thought of the final cut!

@Donna Thornton 😂😂 Okay, I’ll be watching for that official YouTube comment now. No escaping it! But seriously, I’m really glad the final cut still felt like you guys. That was exactly what I was hoping for keeping the real conversation, the laughs, and the random rabbit trails while still getting the important stuff across. Now finish that last bit and go leave your evidence. 😂❤️
Woohoo … New spotlight!!
@Avinash Khatri congrats on your ad spotlight with Skool🎉🥳 You number 1 now 🎉🥳

@Christy Keeter Yeahhh I like the one platform, one community idea. What was getting frustrating about trying to be everywhere?

@Donna Thornton 😂😂 Looks like I’ve got two YouTube guinea pigs on my hands now. I’m actually down for it though. Kathy, whenever you’re ready, we’ll make YouTube way less confusing. 😂❤️ Donna, now I’m just curious who the second guinea pig is going to be. 👀

We are almost eighty days in, and with a new month about to start, this feels like a good moment to stop and ask rather than assume. We would love to know three things. 💚What has been most useful to you in here so far? The thing you would actually miss. 💚What would serve you better than what we are doing now? Something we could change, drop, or do differently. 💚And what do you wish existed here that does not yet? Tell us the honest version, not the nice one. 🤗 This space is for supporting you as a builder. We'd rather build it around what you tell us. Anything is fair game. 🧡

@Kathy Adams, I really loved reading this. ❤️ I think you actually captured something really important about Skoolology it’s not just the calls or the resources, it’s the people and the willingness to help each other. And @Donna Thornton , I completely agree with what you said about those 15-minute calls. 😂 Maybe the “15-minute” part wasn’t the magic… it was having a space where someone could simply show up, share what they were working on, and get another perspective. Kathy, the fact that you mentioned Helen, Jean, and me really says a lot about the kind of community you’ve found here. And honestly, I think that’s what makes a community special when people don’t hesitate to help someone who is just getting started. I’m really glad I could help with the technical side too! And please don’t ever hesitate to reach out. If I can make something less intimidating or confusing, I’m always happy to help. I also think there’s something worth protecting here as Skoolology grows: the feeling that you’re not figuring everything out alone. Really grateful to be part of this community with all of you. ❤️

@Donna Thornton Yes! ❤️ I think that’s the real magic of a community. You can build the structure, create the calls, and provide the resources but you can’t manufacture that feeling of “I’m not figuring this out alone.” And Kathy’s comment is such a good example of why. Sometimes the thing people value most isn’t the thing you originally designed as the main feature. 👀 That’s honestly one of my biggest takeaways from our conversation.
A Conversation We Didn’t Expect ❤️
Yesterday, @Todd Thornton , @Donna Thornton & I had one of those conversations that just… went everywhere. 😂 Business, life, laughs, emotions, and a few completely unexpected moments. It didn’t feel like a podcast. It felt like three friends simply sitting down and talking. The full conversation is coming soon. Can’t wait for you to watch this one. ❤️

@Donna Thornton Honestly, I think that’s exactly what made the conversation so special. 😂❤️ The moment it stopped feeling like a podcast and just became three friends talking, everything got better. And yes… there were definitely a few moments where I thought, “Well, we’re never cutting this part out.” 😂 Can’t wait for everyone to see the real, unfiltered version of you two. ❤️
