Celebrating this 14yo Double Suspension...
I put a lot of care into Koko's joint support and pain relief/anti-inflammatory protocol, so I take great delight and satisfaction that this 14yo girl still has her double suspension rotary gallop going this well. Running is Joy and Freedom for her, so this is a big part of her quality of life.

@Melanie Sweeney obsessed. 💕 I wonder if something caught her attention on the left. I can affect my dogs lead leg on the slatmill based on what side I’m on. Which is wicked cool.
New ritual
Nim has started requesting hugs upon returning home. I help him out of the car and he makes it very clear it’s time to connect. Curious where this leads. Photo of a different kind of connection.

@Birdy O'Sheedy Reminds me to appreciate how much he’s giving doing the trainings and all.
Sleepy Diva
Play hard, nap harder. I wish I could sleep like her, but for now I'll settle for having her snooze upside down in my lap 😴🥰✨️🐾 Share your sleeping dogs ❤️

Couchin it
Lately I've been unwell with eye issues effecting my vision. It's forced me to just be, as I couldn't read a book, watch TV, drive the car or spend more than a minute or two looking at a screen. I had to slow down, nap a lot (couldn't open eyes much for several days) listen to music and just BE with the dogs and practise PAWS ✨️🐾 Almost sad to return to work tomorrow 🫣

How goes the eyeballs?
Communication
I know my dog is barking at nothing important. It's just a wallaby at the bird bath. It's after midnight and I'm tired, but I never correct my dogs for alert barking. Ever. I acknowledge them and let them know they are heard, and then together we settle. I never want my dogs to feel like they cannot express themselves and I want them to know that they can ask for direction from me, be it a cue to take action, to be calm or to hand the issue over for me to handle on their behalf. Plus lately there have been times when it wasn't just a wallaby, so I'd rather know either way. Living this way with my dogs I've never had issues with nuisance barking. Its just communication after all .... How do you respond to your dog? Do you have a conversation, or just ask them to shush?

I’m also with you. Get up, check it out. Thank them for keeping us safe (most often from a nefarious ring necked pheasant who has taken to showing off in your yard). And then dismiss. 💕
