Patchwork with scraps
This is the beginnings of my patchwork cushion cover using scraps and odd bits of fabric. It’s a nice slow make and I’m enjoying every stitch. Even the paper hexagons are made from scraps of discarded paper. It’s going to be a 16inch square cushion so I’m getting there. I’m not sure I have enough to patchwork the back. That might have to be plain.

Silk scarves
I’ve been given 20 100% silk scarves and I’ve no idea what to do with them. Has anyone any ideas what I could make or how to use them?

What a special gift. I’m not a long time sewist so I’ve no idea how to work with silk and other delicate fabrics it’s a question I was going to ask the peeps in the refashion rebel group because I have some fabric I want to make a dress out of but it’s fabric I fear

@Cheryl Jones I’ve stayed away from the delicate fabrics so far because they scare me. Years ago a I tried to hem a pair of pants that I just ruined. That fabric just moved and rolled and just made a mess of things. I’ve not tried since.

@Sarah Carpenter glad you are out of hospital and recovering. In case you don’t know Lynda had surgery on her back last week and will be out of service for a bit. We, the community are going to keep her group going while she recovers. I have only started sewing 2yrs ago I consider myself a newbie.
Let’s keep her community going.
Lynda is in recovery and I’m sure she’ll be back as soon as she can but in the meantime let’s keep the community going. I will try to post something every couple of days. I’m an admin on the rebel group and that keeps me really busy and I know you all have busy lives too. But Lynda has always been about slowing down so if each individual in the community could come post something every few days so we keep her momentum going. So if you look and there’s no post just say hi to everyone, post a picture of your WIP or finished project. Also she has the easy listening thing on YT. And her YT channel. She is such an inspiration to us. Let’s help where we can. Feed her algorithm while she recovers.

Thrift store junkie for 45 yrs. I discovered upcycling about 18 months ago. I started with Traci Myers and found Mandy thru her. I love this journey.
