@Ceri Purkins he will be ok, dont worry!! And good luck!! My son missed good few team trainings this season and his motivation was so much up and down, that made me worried too, but he is great now too, with better weather to train more with him even in the garden and we attend live matches too more now( league of ireland mens 1st division ) and that gives him massive inspiration( he is in U10 team now himself, up to U11 in September)

@William Barlow thank you!
CONGRATULATIONS 🥳👏🏼
Well done to @Trent O neill you are the winner of the "name the sports drink competition" and have won a pair of Pro S25's. If you privately message @Ray Newland directly and share your delivery details, he will then forward these on. As soon as I have this, I will get them sent recorded delivery to you. Thank you to everyone who took part and voted. You all make this community what it is. Have a great bank holiday weekend and the best of luck in your matches, if you're playing

Congratulations to the winner! 👐🎉Very solid name for gk drink💪 ( l loved jump juice too by @Erin Bothwick if not mistaken🙂. Every time we play with my son at the garden and one of us makes a brilliant save, we say we had a jump juice! Very catchy name👍🙂)
How to dry gloves quicker❓️
Very basic question I always wanted to ask!!! How do you dry your gloves. It's always recommended to air dry them naturally. I find they dry for AGES , especially in our damp irish, and well english climate. They are thick latex and with some other material inserts, they do dry long enough.... My son only has couple of pairs now that he uses ( 1 match per week, 1 team training and I play with him in the garden nearly every day now, but for garden we use older spare gloves) We wash gloves after each use and I dry them after wash in the warmest "room" where our immersion is, the warmest place so they are dry quicker in time to use them. Its not overly hot there, but do I overdry them there? Otherwise they dry for days. Never on radiators! Or the solution is to buy more gloves and let the wet ones dry more naturally? How do you dry yours? Any tips? I know you play and train much more often then us now. Thanks!

@David Radbourne I knew about radiators but not about the sunlight. Makes sense, any harsh conditions would do extra harm.
Gloves prepared
Just prepped the new gloves ready for the weekend. I always refer to this guide I put together to make sure it's done correctly

That's a great poster and advices, especially for beginners. I wish I saw it when we started our goalkeeping journey with my son!!! No, I didn't put them into the washing machine, no way😄, but we didn't know at least you need to soak new gloves first thing. And he doesn't wash them straight after the use, stil...!

Thursday Thoughts: Talent Is Not Enough
For my Thursday Thoughts, I want to share the lessons I have learned from my own goalkeeper journey — from being a young keeper dreaming of becoming a professional, to achieving that dream, then starting Just4Keepers in 1998 and helping tens of thousands of goalkeepers and parents around the world. My hope is that my experience can help you avoid mistakes, build confidence, and have a better goalkeeper journey than I did. Here is today’s thought: Talent is not enough. Over the years, I have seen many talented keepers fail because they lacked attitude, mindset, discipline, or consistency. I have also seen less talented keepers go further because they listened, worked hard, stayed humble, and kept improving. The higher you go, the more everyone has talent. So the difference becomes your character. My advice to you is: ✅ Work on your mindset as much as your technique ✅ Be coachable, even when feedback is hard to hear ✅ Never rely on talent alone ✅ Build discipline before you need it ✅ Stay humble and keep learning What are you now going to do with this advice? Please comment below. Let’s see your commitment. Your friend, Ray Newland

@Kelvin Armiger That's a very good attitude you have - to always learn!! I keep learning and learning and improving. My son teaching me goalkeeping now 🙂 Learn from others and compete with yourself! Ask yourself every day - did I become any better today, stronger, smarter, kinder to others ect ect than I was yesterday? Think ,what you can do today to be better than yourself yesterday.
