Something interesting
Good morning gentlemen, I had an interesting observation yesterday at a function. Now please understand I am not judging or knocking anyone’s appearances. But I was at a function and there were about 35- 50 individuals at this event. I was very nice and the dress was professional. Several men in suits some with and some without ties. I saw some with similar suits and such. But one thing that I did notice that stood out was the men and women that wore smart watches. Now mind you I am not saying there is anything wrong with smart watches I know some have added nice dress bands to theirs smart watches. But I did notice that they did stand out as to not really go with their outfits. I mean it didn’t look atrocious, but it did throw some of their outfits off to the point that I noticed them. Now I don’t know if it’s because joining this community I am aware of it but it was like I could see them at a distance and just seems to throw their outfits off a little. Has anyone else seen or experienced this? Mind you I not saying they look bad by any means, i just noticed them.

You nailed it! nothing says “boardroom power” like a sharp suit… until your wrist lights up with a notification that “Steve just liked your cat video.” 😆 Smartwatches at formal events are wild. There is a place and time for them. Don't get me wrong but for some people, well,...you half expect the best man at a wedding to stand up, tap his watch, and announce, “Sorry folks, gotta hit my step goal before cake.”

@James Dennard Plus if they're like any other Gadget the new one will come out next year and the one you've got is already on the roadto be obsolete or within a couple years no updates forcing you to buy a new one that's the part I can't accept🤪
I need some ideas
Good morning gentlemen, I know some of you that have been collecting and acquiring watches for some time and I know you have ways in which you store and display them. I would love if some of you could share how you store and display your collection so some of us can have some ideas. I am starting to look into a storage and display of my own and would love some ideas. And if you could post a picture it would greatly help us see how you are displaying and storing yours.

My collection may be on the meager side, but it didn’t take long to realize that casually setting my watches on wood counters was basically an open invitation for scuffs. Lesson learned. So, in true “function-meets-form” fashion, I picked up some felt and wood and put together a simple little watch shelf. Nothing fancy, but it gives my pieces a proper landing pad and keeps things organized. For me, the key was thinking about three things: protection (no scratches), presentation (something I’d actually enjoy looking at), and practicality (easy access without fumbling). The shelf checks those boxes, and it was fun to make.

@John Langlois I have no complaints whatsoever. I own watches that cost far more, yet none earn as many compliments as the Olevs. 😁 Just goes to show, style isn’t measured by price.
