Sifting worm castings with 1/4 inch
I dried down some worm castings to sift, and they were still a little too moist to go through the 1/8 inch. I went ahead and sifted with the 1/4 inch and will continue drying it down for a day or two before double sifting. A lot of people use the 1/4 inch for personal use and it’s completely fine. Just depends on what your goals are. I personally sell the 1/8 inch or finer!

@Cherene Packard بالفعل كانت رطبة جدا ولكن الرطوبه الزائدة تتسرب الى طبقة من الكرتون اسفل الوعاء . اصبح عدد الفطر ٨ حتى الان .😁

Worms Eating Pear Timelapse
Here’s a timelapse I did a while back! These are a lot of fun to watch and I’m going to start doing more of them. This one took about 8 days. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1HTLR7A8Wy/?mibextid=wwXIfr

رائع حقا 🥰😍
Vermi-Hut question....
Yesterday my hut was fluffed. I found some explorers on level 3. Mostly damp inocculated shred and whatever "compost " has fallen through. I had put the worms back in level 2. Today, my "Spidey" senses told me to look again. Again, I found more explorers....👀 Q: Is that a great indicator to Dry/sift out the top layer, return the overs to level 3 and make rotation?

@Tiffany Arellano لا اجد سبب مقنع لتواجد هذه الصغيره هنا الا ان يكون هناك من اغضبها بكلمة او تصرف مزعج . 😁
🪱 New Community Categories!
As our community grows, I'm starting to notice some common topics that come up again and again. To make it easier to find information later, I've added three new categories! If you're ever unsure where to post, don't worry! 😊 Just pick the category that seems to fit best (or use General Discussion) and I can always move it later. Worm Feeding & Nutrition Use this category for anything related to feeding your worms or what goes into their diet. Examples: - Worm chow recipes - Feeding schedules - Alfalfa - Oats, cornmeal, grains, and other feed ingredients - Eggshells and grit - Overfeeding or underfeeding - Protein poisoning - Food scraps and feeding experiments - Questions about what worms can (or can't) eat 🥚 Breeding & Cocoons This category is for everything related to growing your worm population and maximizing reproduction. Examples: - Breeder bins - Cocoon production - Harvesting cocoons - Population growth - Reproduction questions - Bedding for breeding - Environmental factors that affect cocoon production - Breeding experiments and observations ♻️ Composting (Beyond Worms) That could include: - 3 bay systems - Compost tumblers - Trash can composting - Static piles - Leaf mold - Carbon/nitrogen ratios - Turning compost - Hot vs. cold composting - Black soldier fly larvae - Fungi in compost - Outdoor compost piles - Compost thermometers Happy worm farming!
