Hump Day Thought: You Are Not Your Label
This morning I’ve been reading about diagnosis, and it really hit me. A diagnosis can be helpful. It can give people language, understanding, support and direction. But here’s the danger… Sometimes we start becoming the label. “I am anxious.”“I am depressed.”“I have ADHD.”“I’m broken.”“This is just who I am.” No. You are not your diagnosis you are not your darkest thought you are not the worst chapter of your life. A label might explain part of what you’re experiencing, but it should never become your identity. You are still a person with potential, purpose, strength, humour, love, pain, dreams and a future. So today, on hump day, remember this: Use the label if it helps you understand yourself. But don’t let it become a cage. Keep going. Keep speaking. Keep building yourself back up. One step at a time. Big love,Alfie

I love this, @Alfie Ruffell thank you for sharing. This is one reason mantras can be so powerful. In Sanskrit, man means mind and tra means tool, so a mantra is essentially a tool for the mind. We might know them best as affirmations 🫶We can use mantras to help guide our thoughts and create more supportive inner dialogue. For example, rather than repeatedly telling yourself, “I have ADHD,” you might choose a mantra such as: ✨ I love how my brain works — it’s my superpower. ✨I embrace my differences as opportunities to grow .✨ My mind works in creative and unique ways. ✨ I am enough, exactly as I am. Positive affirmations can be especially helpful for people with ADHD. They encourage us to reframe limiting beliefs, build self-awareness, and remind ourselves of our strengths, worth, and potential. Repeated regularly, they can help create a kinder and more empowering relationship with ourselves. Happy Sunday big love Maxine. Xx x

Resting
Hey beautiful people, I’m so looking forward to resting with you all tomorrow 🫶 Our theme for the session will be The “I Want” Epidemic 🥳 I’ve created a beautiful rest session centred around desire and creation—because when the body and mind are rested, the heart has the capacity to dream, expand, and create from a deeper place 💋 I’ll be online 10 minutes early, so if anyone would like to come in beforehand for a catch-up, we’ll be there for you. The session will begin promptly at 7pm. If you join at 7 or just after, please slip in like a ninja—quietly, with your mic off—so we can honour everyone’s boundaries with time and keep the space grounded 💋 Have a beautiful blessed Sunday X x x
Good morning
Good morning everyone hope everyone is well I just wanted to share my running achievement so far this year.Since January 1st, I’ve run over 180 miles, and I’m really proud of how far I’ve come. My yearly challenge is to run 45 miles each month, and I’ve now pushed past that target, keeping me on track to reach 560 miles by the end of the year r that’s the goal I’m aiming for. I’m also excited to take on the Great South Run with you all, and in October I’m planning something very special running 50 miles in 17 days in honour of my sister’s 50th birthday. I just want to say thank you to every one of you for the love and support you’ve shown me since joining Speak. You’re all such wonderful and amazing people. Thank you for giving me the courage and confidence to do this. You all mean so much to me, and I’ll be forever thankful because every one of you has played a part in helping me heal, step by step, day by day. Thank you all 🙏💚
