When the Strategy Changes, Don't Lose Sight of the Goal
Day 34/365 Mindset Building an online business means learning to adapt. A strategy may not work. A piece of content may fall flat. Your audience may respond differently than expected. A platform may change. That doesn't automatically mean your goal is wrong. It may simply mean your approach needs to change. Spencer Johnson's Who Moved My Cheese? reminds us that change is part of life—and our response to change matters. Today's Starting Over Principle "When the path changes, adjust your direction without abandoning your destination." Inspired by the principles in Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson. Don't become so attached to one strategy that you're unwilling to learn a better one. Test. Learn. Adapt. Keep moving. Question: What is one part of your business strategy you may need to adjust rather than abandon?

@Joan von Metzinger Joan, I can really relate to this! I also rely quite a bit on my daughter when I get stuck with the technical and AI side of things. I’m still very old-school and often find myself going back to books for guidance and inspiration, and then thinking, “Okay, now what do I do with all this?” I’m slowly learning that using AI properly is part of the journey, and that sometimes the right prompt can make all the difference. I’m definitely still learning! 🐢❤️
A Focused Business Grows Better Than a Distracted One
Day 32/365 Mindset One of the biggest challenges when starting an online business isn't finding things to do. It's deciding which things actually matter. There are endless platforms. Strategies. Tools. Courses. Content ideas. Funnels. Automation. And it is very easy to become busy without actually moving forward. Greg McKeown's Essentialism teaches the value of focusing on what is truly important. Today's Starting Over Principle "Your next chapter becomes clearer when you stop giving your energy to what no longer matters." Inspired by the principles in Essentialism by Greg McKeown. You don't need to build everything today. Choose your priority. Do it well. Learn from it. Then build from there. Question: What is one distraction you need to remove so you can focus on building your business?

@Joan von Metzinger I can relate to this, Joan. I have similar distractions, and since I’m not really working with a calendar or proper time management at the moment, I sometimes lose focus and end up in situations that could probably have been avoided if I had simply planned better. I’m slowly realising that I need to get back into the habit of planning my time instead of just dealing with whatever comes up. The balancing act is definitely something I’m still learning! 🐢❤️

@Joan von Metzinger Haha Joan, I can relate! Sometimes the biggest challenge isn’t getting started, but finding your way back after being distracted. And I think my calendar might also end up as a doodling pad! 😂🐢
Your Priorities Mean Nothing Without Action
Day 33/365 Mindset One of the easiest traps in online business is becoming busy without becoming productive. You can spend hours watching training, researching strategies, changing your branding, trying new tools, planning content and preparing — while avoiding the one action that could actually move your business forward. Richard Koch's The 80/20 Principle reminds us to look for the actions that create the greatest impact. Today's Starting Over Principle "Don't just identify what matters. Give your best effort to what matters most." Inspired by the principles in The 80/20 Principle by Richard Koch. You don't need another hundred things on your to-do list. You need to identify the few things that matter most. Then execute. Question: What is the one business action you know you need to take instead of spending more time preparing?

@Joan von Metzinger I agree with you, Joan. I think taking this approach and starting to put the pieces together before everything is perfect makes sense. I’m also learning that sometimes we just need to start and work things out as we go. ❤️🐢

@Joan von Metzinger Joan, that is a bold step! Getting two major corporates to agree is already a great start. I love that you didn’t wait until you had everything figured out and you started with the small steps and are building from there. And yes, maybe you can blame Eugene AI for giving you that extra push! I am still a bit reluctant. 😂❤️🐢

One of the easiest ways to lose perspective on your journey is to keep looking at how far you still have to go. The next goal. The next milestone. The next commission. The next level. And suddenly, everything you've already achieved disappears from view. But what if you stopped for a moment and looked back? Look at what you know today that you didn't know six months ago. Look at the skills you've developed. The mistakes you've learned from. The uncomfortable conversations you've had. The content you've created. The things you've finally figured out. The moments when you wanted to quit but kept going. That's progress. And progress matters because results don't always appear immediately. Sometimes you're building the foundation long before anyone can see the house. So don't only ask: "How far do I still have to go?" Also ask: "How far have I already come?" That question can completely change your perspective. Celebrate the small wins. Learn from the setbacks. Recognise the growth. Then turn your attention forward again. Because the goal isn't to convince yourself that you've arrived. It's to recognise that you are moving. And every step forward is evidence that you are becoming more capable of reaching the destination. Keep building. Keep learning. Keep moving. Your progress may be further along than you think. ❤️ Francois

@Francois Joubert Thank you, Francois. I really appreciate your comment because you know more about my journey than most and you’re always there to encourage me. That encouragement has honestly become a bit of a crutch for me and something I lean on daily when I doubt myself or feel a little lost. I’m grateful for your kins responses and support in the community. ❤️🐢

@Michell Okamoto Thanks, Michell. I think the biggest thing I’d like to walk away with is clarity on whether I’m looking at my business and my customer in the right way. I’m still very new to sales and marketing, and I don’t want to keep overthinking and second-guessing myself. If I can leave the meeting feeling more confident about the direction I’m taking, that would be a big win for me. 🐢❤️
