NASDAQ 100 QQQ rule change for investors before SpaceX IPO - gets included after 15 days
Link: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/qqq-investors-sell-spacex-ipo-172258757.html "Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) tracks the Nasdaq-100 index, which is considering a ‘Fast Entry’ provision allowing SpaceX to join after just 15 trading days instead of the standard three-month seasoning period" Essentially, the question we are trying to answer is: Is SpaceX IPO overvalued? With its ratios right now, yes it is Will index funds like QQQ be forced to buy it 15 days after IPO? Yes (compare to waiting 3 months before) This means there will be a surge of capital going from NASDAQ 100 QQQ into SpaceX 15 days after IPO So while I forecast insider will be selling the stock to cash out, this surge of cash from index funds will lead to maintaining SpaceX's volatile stock price. So the actual correction should come after the index funds buy in. Cheers, Eric ---- Eric Seto Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) Founder of 5MinInvesting.com In June, I’m helping 20 people to become better at investing through Investing Accelerator. Thisis a great insight to share. Thanks. I'm sure the media will be flooded with noise on this one the days leading up to this event.
👶 This First-Grader is Out-Trading Wall Street?!
This was a fun one I wanted to share this morning. Why You Need to Watch This Video: Think the stock market requires decades of experience and a finance degree? Think again. This hilarious video shows a kid—likely still in elementary school—breaking down a technical trading strategy using "Ballinger" (Bollinger) Bands and RSI [00:04]. While he admits he doesn't entirely know what the numbers mean [00:26], his "overpowered" strategy hits its profit target perfectly [01:21]. It’s a funny, chaotic, and eye-opening reminder that sometimes the market is simpler than we make it out to be. Why It’s Engaging: The Playground Millionaire: The podcat host jokes that this kid is making "generational wealth" and funding it by selling Roblox setups and a playground trading courses [00:45]. Pure Luck or Hidden Genius?: Watching a young kid set up long positions and talk about "market shifts" while the host has a minor existential crisis is pure comedic gold [01:04]. The Ultimate Plot Twist: Forget AI taking over our careers—we might all just get replaced by a first-grader with a Minecraft account [01:31]. Thanks @Eric Seto for investment accelerator - I can now understand this 6 year-old, and read his chart.😆 🤣

"What Would Your Portfolio Look Like If It Were Easy?" - Greg McKeown(Effortless) Made Me Ask This
Most of us accept "hard" as the price of doing something important. Greg McKeown author of Effortless disagrees. And after applying his question to my own investing, so do I. The question: "What would this look like if it were easy?" Here's what happens when I actually run it: ❌ Hard version: Research 20 stocks, monitor daily, react to every earnings call, try to time every entry. ✅ Easy version: Own 6–8 blue chip positions, add monthly, let compounding do the heavy lifting. ❌ Hard version: Agonize over covered call timing using 12 different indicators. ✅ Easy version: Follow @Eric Seto RSI framework. Wait for the signal. Execute. Repeat. ❌ Hard version: Predict macro events before they happen. ✅ Easy version: Own quality. Stay invested. Rebalance once a year. McKeown's core insight: our instinct for the easier path isn't laziness, it's design. The real question is whether your system is simple enough to follow consistently, because a sophisticated strategy you abandon beats nothing. A simple strategy you execute every month builds wealth. Which version are you running... the hard one or the easy one?
