About page fun
Hi everyone, I'm still evolving my Skool community being it's only be open just over a month. And one of the things I'm really focussed on is making my community fun for my members, and a joyful place for me. Spirituality, is often heavy going emotionally and my sense is that the topic needs a fresh approach. Cue the fun. So I have a question. I'd appreciate your ideas that could help bring this fun vibe into my about page. What can I do with my about page to so people feel that, beyond coming straight out and saying it. p.s I'm still yet to do a video for my about page as I've been waiting for my community structure to settle in before I did that. I'm getting there.

Hi Carrie, We’re playing in similar spaces (spirituality + fun), so I recorded a Loom in which I review your page. (Which helps me figure out my own messaging, too.) Here are the highlights from the video: - Visuals are Key: Your first image—the one with the vibrant colors and you having a great time—is your champion. It perfectly captures the "fun" vibe you’re after. The others (especially the interior screenshots) feel a bit "washed out" or confusing by comparison. Stick with that high-energy, joyful aesthetic! - Clarify the "Why": You use great phrases like "reclaim inner authority," but for someone new, those can feel a bit abstract. Since your "fun" approach to heavy topics is your superpower, lead with that! Contrast the "heavy road" of spirituality with the joy you provide. - Benefits over Features: In your "What's Inside" section, try to pivot from what they get (live sessions) to how it makes them feel or change (e.g., moving from insight to the confidence to take action). - The Power of Video: I can’t wait to see your About video. Seeing your personality "live" will be the fastest way to bridge that gap between the sacred and the sassy. Having 40+ members after only a month is awesome, especially for a community that doesn't offer quick riches or easy fixes. I hope there's an idea in here that inspires you. Meanwhile, I love what you're offering and wish you terrific success!

One of the BEST ways to grow our Skool communities is to support each other! So let's do that 👇 Drop a comment with: 1. Your Skool community name and link 2. Who it's for (one sentence please!) 3. What members get when they join (what's included?) Then scroll through and join 3 communities that GENUINELY interest you. Not to get someone to join yours back. BUT because you're genuinely curious about their community and might want to engage in it. Alright... let's help each other! 💘

@Miri Campbell Hi, Miri! this one got my attention. (I *love* the psychology-based approach.) Are you aware that your "Upgrade to Premium" link takes us back to the About page? The link says it goes to /plans, but every click took me back to /about. Dunno if that's intentional or a broken link, but wanted to point it out, just in case. Addendum: It works properly AFTER I joined the free tier, but not before. Weird.
Why isn't my about page converting?
THIS is a question I see ALL the time in the Skoolsphere... and I want to help YOU figure this out :) From my experience reviewing hundreds of about pages here on Skool, I've noticed a few reasons WHY they may not convert... 1. Your promise is too vague This is a biggie!! What specifically will I be able to do, have, or feel after joining your community? If I don't understand that quickly from reading your page, I won't join. :( --- 2. It's not clear who it's for If your about page speaks to everyone, it converts no one. Guys, don't make this mistake!! I KNOW you want to be inclusive and speak to alllll the people. BUT the more specific you are about who belongs inside your community, the more the RIGHT people feel seen and JOIN! Fix it: name YOUR person. The specific human who needs what you have (think: who is the most IDEAL member and what do they call themself?) --- 3. There's nothing about YOU Why should I trust you to help me? What have you done, seen, or figured out that makes you the right person to lead this community? People join communities because of the leader as much as the content. Fix it: one or two sentences about why you specifically are the person to help them get this result. This is NOT a whole bio (we don't have space for this). But some credibility markers. - Years of experience - No. of people helped - Personal story --- 4. There's no reason to join now If there's nothing that creates urgency — a founding member offer, a live event coming up, a free resource I can use, a call I can join.. I'll tell myself I'll come back later. And I never will. Fix it: give me a reason to join today. A live workshop, a founding price, a cohort starting soon. Something that makes it feel great to join right now! :) --- VIP members get THIS kind of feedback from me twice every month — on their about pages, their copy, their offers. This happens live on our calls and through pre-submitted questions. I provide a very THOROUGH review. Always!

@Elise Hodge No questions. Joining VIP was one of the best things I've done in a while.
Did you know you can toggle VIP on and off?
I was sharing about this in our VIP call today, and it was new information to some members! 👀 Which is HUGE… because it gives you wayyyyyy more control over how (and when) you sell VIP. Here are some ways you could use this: - Turn VIP on during a promo period→ Run a focused push (e.g. after a workshop, challenge, or launch)→ Then switch it off so you’re not constantly selling it - Use VIP as a limited-time upgrade→ “VIP is open this week only” hits very differently than “VIP is always available”→ Creates urgency without needing to be pushy - Turn VIP OFF when you hit capacity. If a space opens up, reopen it and let your community know. - Open VIP once a week for 24 hours ⏳→ Let new members know: “VIP opens every [day] for a limited time” This builds a natural rhythm + recurring urgency without extra effort - Use it as a reward or invite-only experience→ Open VIP just for your MOST engaged premium → Or after someone hits a milestone inside your community - Test positioning + pricing without pressure→ Turn it on, test messaging, see what converts→ Turn it off, refine, and re-open stronger IMO, this completely changes how you approach monetisation. You don’t need to have everything “always available.” This allows you to create real urgency and manage your new VIP client flow! I'm actually thinking about turning my VIP OFF soon and taking an enrolment-based approach. I'm going to give it some more thought!

I had been struggling with the idea of how to bring in VIPs in a cohort fashion. Should I open a new community just for them? That one tip solved the problem so cleanly and elegantly. I'd kick myself for missing it, but I'll just praise myself for joining on that VIP call instead. After all, no on person can think of all things. This is why we work in teams. Thank you!

But is it as exclusive as Macklemore? "Ice on the fringe is so damn frosty The people like, "Damn, that's a cold-ass honky" Rolling in hella deep, headed to the mezzanine Dressed in all pink 'cept my gator shoes, those are green" (IYKYK 😮😁)
