What are your standards for 2026?
I got a lot out of the podcast the other day, when @Anthony Walsh talked about a "Stoic Reset." One big takeaway was the value of having standards instead of goals. It takes the emphasis away from outcomes, and puts it back into the actions you take, which you can control. What are your standards for 2026?

For me it's: - Show up consistently - Don't cut corners (i'll know) - Do the hard thing Have you set any?
Incorporating strength training
I’m struggling to fit strength training into my routine and I’m wondering if I could get some insight from the community. For background, I’m a 40 year old working dad, so my schedule is busy. I’ve been back to training for the last 4 months after several years away from cycling. I’m mostly training for longevity and fun, but my competitive nature has me wanting to do some fondos/races here and there, and maybe snag a neighborhood KOM or two. Right now I’m able to fit in 4-5 sessions on the bike/trainer a week - which typically ends up being 7-8 hours. I’ve mostly been doing Z2 up until the last month, and lately I’ve been adding in 1-2 threshold/sweet spot sessions per week. I’m hesitant to lift on rest days, trying to keep them truly restful. So, should I lift on low intensity days, or on the high intensity days? Ideally I’d like to lift 2-3 times per week, with no/few breaks during the year. Thanks!

@Iver Olsen Given your goals and time crunched, put strength on ride days and protect at least one truly off day. I like to aim for 2 strength sessions/week especially at this time of year. If you double up (2 sessions in one day), do the key bike work first. In busy weeks, drop to 1 strength session instead of skipping it completely so you hang on to the gains. I like to lift on high intensity days so i have a truely polarised week with very hard days

@Jacob Bear yeah can be tough from a motivational point of view to wake up and know you've 2 hard sessions to do that day
Jonas Vingegaard to the Giro
There were rumours about Jonas doing the giro and now it’s official. Is there any way that he can still give Pog a good battle at the tour or is it over already?

Very hard to see him being competitive in the tour after a giro. It kinda feels like an admission that he can't beat pogi in the tour
What’s your favorite cycling movie?
Maybe I’m the only one nerdy enough to watch these things, but my dad made me watch ā€œBraking Awayā€ when I was a kid. I loved it. ā€œPremium Rushā€ is a guilty pleasure, but it’s still a distant second.
