✨ LME NAVI Meetup Recap | May 9, 2025
So, what's the short answer to our big meetup question? YES -- you can and should learn two languages at once... if you get a dopamine hit from new words -- go for it! It's unlikely to slow you down in either one. Think of it this way: would you rather spend three years learning Spanish and then three years learning English -- or learn both over the same three years with a smart, steady approach? Big thanks and special mentions to: @Carrie Li So glad to welcome another enthusiastic English teacher to the community -- you’re in the right place! @Sia Zhang Even in the chaos of moving (or should we call it creative mess? 😄), you found time to join us and share your experience with learning Japanese. It's still with you! Science says that languages we've used regularly are never fully “turned off” -- and your bus story is proof of that. P.S. Here's the book I mentioned: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondō. @Jiang Carmen Welcome! You just started the PIRF FRESH course yesterday -- and today, you joined the LME NAVI meetup and spoke with us. That's an amazing start -- keep it up! @Ethan Brown Thanks for joining us. Rest up and recover -- sleep is definitely part of the plan, especially during a staycation. Sweet dreams! @Soooda Feng Our busy bride -- thank you for making time! Your curiosity truly knows no bounds -- it's led you to explore Swahili. WOW indeed! @Eva Bosakova It was so inspiring to hear from you! I envy your loved ones -- it must be amazing to have you around. You cook, you care, you practice English, and you dance Argentine tango with your husband. Truly wonderful! @Ada Ada Your approach to language learning is fascinating -- like discovering a new version of yourself. Imagine how many “you”s are waiting to be found with each new language.
