Food & Mental Performance: Why Protein Matters 🧠⚽
If you want to improve your focus, decision-making, and energy on the field, what you eat matters a lot. Protein is especially important for mental health and brain performance. Your brain uses amino acids (from protein) to produce neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, which help with: • Focus and concentration • Faster decision making • Stable mood and confidence • Mental recovery after training or matches When players eat enough protein, they often feel more alert, calmer under pressure, and mentally stronger during games. Here are 4 simple foods that help your brain and body: 1️⃣ Eggs Eggs are one of the best sources of protein and contain choline, which supports brain memory and focus. 2️⃣ Greek Yogurt High in protein and probiotics. It helps both brain health and digestion, which affects energy levels. 3️⃣ Fish (Salmon or Tuna) Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which improve brain function, reaction time, and mental clarity. 4️⃣ Nuts (Almonds or Walnuts) Provide healthy fats, protein, and magnesium that support brain function and reduce mental fatigue. Simple tip for players: Try to include protein in every meal, especially breakfast. A simple meal like eggs, yogurt, fruit, and nuts can help your brain stay sharp for training and matches. Remember: Train your body, but also fuel your brain. Football IQ starts with what you eat. 🧠⚽

⚽ Football IQ Quiz #2 – Decision Making (Answer & Explanation)
Great discussion everyone. Many of you gave very good answers. ✅ Both B and C can be correct decisions depending on timing and pressure. B) Pass immediately to the striker running behind the defense This is the most aggressive attacking option. If you scan quickly and the passing lane opens for even a moment, the through ball can break the defensive line and create a big scoring chance. Top midfielders recognize these moments and play the pass early before defenders recover. C) Pass to the wide player on the left side This is the safer and more controlled option. If the central lane is blocked or the through pass is too risky, switching the ball to the wide player with space keeps possession and allows the team to attack from a better angle. Good midfielders constantly choose between risk vs control. 🧠 Football IQ Lesson: Great decision makers do not always have only one correct answer. They read the situation and choose the best option based on space, timing, and pressure. Sometimes the best play is the quick forward pass (B). Sometimes the best play is to move the ball to space and keep the attack alive (C). Both show good football intelligence if the player scans the field and decides quickly. ⚽ Keep scanning ⚽ Keep thinking ⚽ Think before you play

They’re both good & correct, but C is better. I wanted to pick B initially, but I pondered whether it’s good. Honestly, this IQ quiz required a lot of thinking compared to the previous Quizzes
⚽ Football IQ Quiz #2 – Decision Making
Imagine this situation: You are a central midfielder. You receive the ball between the lines and quickly scan the field. You see: • A teammate wide on the left with space • A striker making a run behind the defense • A defender closing you down from behind • Another defender blocking the central passing lane What is the best decision? A) Turn and try to dribble forward B) Pass immediately to the striker running behind the defense C) Pass to the wide player on the left side D) Shield the ball and wait for support 👇 Comment your answer (A, B, C, or D) and explain why. Tomorrow I will post the correct answer and explanation.

Option C: It's the best option because the Winger has space & time to either shoot, cross, or create chances in the final third. Also the striker could create movement which would lead to goals. Option A: Risky. Option B: Central Lane is already closed down by the defense which could lead to interceptions & clearance. Option D: Delays the game & could give more time for the opposition to reorganize themselves & close down space even if a safe decision is executed.
Real Madrid vs Girona (Match Analysis)
⚪⚪️ Real Madrid - Real Madrid primarily operated in a 4-3-3 structure, which remained relatively stable across both attacking and defensive phases, with minor positional adjustments depending on game context. Their main attacking strategy focused on wide isolation, using Vini Jr and Mbappé to exploit 1v1 situations, stretch Girona’s defensive block, and create space centrally through width manipulation and blindside movements. This approach helped destabilize Girona’s low block and contributed to key chance creation, including Valverde’s goal, which emerged from space opening in central zones after defensive stretching. However, Madrid became somewhat predictable in progression, over-relying on wide channels instead of consistently accessing vertical central lanes against a compact block. Defensively, Madrid’s rest defense structure was inconsistent, leaving space in central areas during attacking phases, which Girona exploited in transition for their goal. 🔴⚪️ Girona - Girona alternated between a 4-4-2 mid-block and a 5-3-2/5-2-3 low block, adapting their structure based on defensive phase and transition moments. Out of possession, they maintained strong compactness, effectively blocking central and half-space access while remaining disciplined in their defensive shape. In attack, Girona were dangerous in transition, using quick progression into the half-spaces and central lanes to exploit Madrid’s disorganized rest defense. Their goal came from a well-timed counterattack where Madrid failed to reorganize defensively. However, Girona struggled when stretched by Madrid’s width-based attacks, particularly when defending prolonged pressure in wide areas from players like Vini Jr & Mbappe.

New position
Found my perfect position which is st or striker The position and what I have to do in it perfectly matches me. My X factors are speed and finishing precisely. I love the striker position. Other positions I never found joy in them
