Who’s done the first training? 😃🙌
After realising I had accidentally set up my sitemap incorrectly because my website doesn’t use ‘www’ and I had typed it in, it’s great to see some better results and data coming through. Quick tip, check whether your site domain uses ‘www’ or not BEFORE you do your sitemap 🤣 Sharing a win to say I’m pleased to have done: ✔️ sitemap ✔️ Google console ✔️ Google analytics What’s next? 😀

@Andy Gailey Yes, adding "www." matters significantly because all URLs in your sitemap must be consistent with the version of your website you prefer (either with or without "www.") and match the domain you submit in Google Search Console. It depends how the domain has been set up. For example, mine on Go Daddy was seomadesimple.uk so I don't submit www. in front, I lead with https:// So my pages as they are created would be: https://seomadesimple.uk/home https://seomadesimple.uk/about https://seomadesimple.uk/blog However, if you have set up the site and domain as www. that would need to be added.
Using Ubersuggest
Hi Gavin, I’ve started using Ubersuggest to research keywords - looking for the one’s with low seo difficulty as you suggest. I’ve got a few ideas for blog titles and content from this. However I’m finding that once I have the list of useful keywords and refresh the SEO difficulty rating then inevitably this rating gets increased to medium or hard. It’s proving a frustrating process. Any thoughts? Cheers, Rich

Hi both, Great point, when I filter through the green keywords, I look at the last updated as a bit of a guide, if it is recent (Less than a couple of months) I use it, if it is longer I refresh it, although you can only refresh a certain amount per month. Also, if there are examples where the search volume is high, but the difficulty is orange or red, and it hasn't been updated for a while, refresh the terms that make sense for you as they may update to green (Unlikely as they are popular) but you may find a few gems. In summary, the difficulty is a guide, the quality of the content is important, so even if a search term is orange for example, as long as you are righting great content, that solves problems for the reader, you may well rank well for them. Over time, as we build the trust with Google and domain authority, these will start to do well. The green is the low hanging fruit that no one really targets.
