If I could send a letter to my younger self, I’d probably say two main things. First, I’d tell myself to quit the part-time job and focus fully on studying English. Mastering English would become a powerful tool to overcome many challenges in my plan to move to New Zealand. With strong English skills, I’d be able to find a job after graduation and live independently, so I should stop worrying about short-term income and concentrate on my studies. The second thing I’d say is to start investing in gold early on. Gold prices would skyrocket over the next decade, and if I had saved some from that time, I would have had enough money to support my immigration to New Zealand. Sometimes I can’t help wondering that if someone had told me these two things earlier, my life might have turned out very differently.
