🚨 Are GLP-1s Getting Wiped Out in 2026?
Everyone's been asking me about Jay Campbell's recent podcast where he claimed GLP-1s are about to be completely shut down in the research and compounding space. His prediction? Eli Lilly is coming with lawsuits, Trump cut a deal, and by 2026 you won't be able to get sema or tirz anywhere except through prescription at their new "discounted" prices ($199-$299/month). Here's my issue: Jay spent half that podcast selling a $1,200/month follastin product. So when someone's pushing expensive products while saying affordable options of proven peptides are disappearing... 🤔 That said... Eli Lilly just hit a $1 TRILLION market cap. A monopoly on GLP-1s makes perfect business sense. And we saw what happened with SS-31—these shutdowns CAN happen fast. Speaking of SS-31, Ben and I covered that rapid shutdown in our podcast. If you want to see how quickly things can change in this space, check it out: 🎥 YouTube: https://youtu.be/oCjljZn2ZoU 🎧 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/episode/5KkQvR4xvgYKD1hLG7vKV7 📝 Show Notes: https://open.substack.com/pub/beyondthevial/p/beyond-the-vial-episode-2-black-friday My take? I don't think it'll be as dramatic as Jay claims, but I also wouldn't completely ignore the warning. Should you stock up? Maybe. Should you panic? No. I break down the whole situation, the political angle, what this could mean for research vendors, and what you should actually do about it. Read the full article here: https://open.substack.com/pub/derekpruski/p/will-glp-1s-disappear-from-the-research?r=4jq1x8&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true ⚠️ Full disclosure: This is 100% my opinion and speculation. I don't have insider info. Just giving you my honest take based on what I'm seeing.

Jay lost me when before all of this he said “95% of peptides you’re getting are fake, and watered down, and all the COAs are fake” I get it, he is trying to make his business look the best and drive sales. But it made me take him a lot less seriously for the rest of what he said in the podcast episode.
Canadian Import Update
Wanted to share my recent experience (Yesterday). I have been buying Vials from Mile High Compounds on and off but had some of my purchases done during BF. Just wanted to give a heads up that Canadian Customs and Food and Safety did check my package and opened it and examined thoroughly. They had ripped the packaging and checked all the contents. I believe that since everything was documented properly (ie Packing Slips matching the products ,brand stickers and product labeled properly on the Vial ) it did help the Personnel in the Department to smoothen the process. Just wanted to share my experience and thoughts since I believe if people like me are importing a vial which is not branded or labelled properly with proper documentation it can be held for God knows how many days or months.

Hey Sarvpreet, glad to hear everything went smoothly, and I really appreciate you putting your trust in us 🙏 Canada has gotten incredibly strict with research peptides. Now It’s more important than ever for us to document and Classify absolutely everything correctly as per Health Canadas requirements. We thankfully have it down to a T after almost 6 months of shipping to you guys :)
SS-31 Disappearing from the Research Market? Here's the Real Story
So I've been getting questions about SS-31 and wanted to clear up what's actually happening. The Short Version: SS-31 is getting fast-tracked for FDA approval, and now the company holding the patent is sending cease and desist letters to research vendors. But no, the compound's not actually disappearing - just getting renamed. Why This Is Happening Now SS-31 (Elamipretide) is moving through the FDA approval process, which is why the patent holder is cracking down on the name. When a compound gets closer to official pharmaceutical status, companies start protecting their intellectual property more aggressively. Makes sense - they've invested millions into getting FDA approval. What's Actually Happening The patent holder is enforcing their trademark rights. This is completely normal business stuff - they own the patent and trademark, so they can tell people to stop using the name "SS-31." To put it simply: "The issue is the name — and not the compound itself." The legal side: "When a compound is under an active patent, the patent holder has full legal authority to issue a cease-and-desist to any seller producing or distributing it without authorization." How Vendors Are Handling It Different companies are taking different approaches: - Some are running flash sales to clear out inventory labeled as "SS-31" and won't restock under that name - Others are just rebranding it with a research code (think how other compounds got coded names) Max expects it'll go the same route as other peptides we've seen: "It's probably going to be codenamed and the COAs for it will also be coded to match." What This Actually Means for You The compound isn't going anywhere. You'll just see it listed under a different name - maybe something like a research code or alternative identifier. The COAs will match whatever new name vendors use. This could happen with other patented compounds too (Tesamorelin was mentioned as potentially next). My Take This is just standard patent enforcement as the compound moves toward official pharmaceutical approval. The actual product doesn't change - just what it's called. Most vendors will keep carrying it under a new name.

@Tim Chaikovsky I don’t mean to steal Derek’s thunder here but I want to give you some insight, one of my friends who is also a company owner got a trademark infringement notice from a certain pharmaceutical company for SS-31 as well, these are the two choices that I see going around: 1. Companies are opting to avoid the risk/exposure entirely and running flash sales to get them gone ASAP and/or choosing to not restock after. 2. Delisting the product and figuring out a renaming scheme. In my opinion, SS-31 is probably going to turn out like Reta, Tirz, and Sema where it is going to be codenamed and the COAs for it will also be in “incognito mode” (codenamed to fit) The issue is the name — and not the compound itself. I can foresee the same thing happening for Tesamorelin sooner than later. It’ll just be named T3SA-10 or something of the sort. Unless our CC processor tells us to delist it or I get the same letter, here at MHC we will just be selling it under the same name and going about it as usual.
