My daughter asked me to make ham & cheese potato casserole. Easy. Beginner stuff. I skimmed the recipe, shopped, prepped, and started cooking. Ina Garten, Midwest edition. And then—plot twist—those potatoes weren’t supposed to be raw. 😳 (It was hidden in the ingredients list: “2 cups sliced, peeled, and cooked potatoes.” Poopsicles!) Raw potatoes = double-and-a-half the cooking time. Thankfully, I had started early. Why? Because after 6 kids, I’ve learned that if I don’t over-anticipate, the domino effect of chaos is epic. 👉 Here’s the blessing in disguise: My constant battle with lateness turned into a habit of over-preparing. It saved dinner tonight. Your turn: What habit—born from something hard or annoying—has turned out to be a blessing in disguise for you?

When we have somewhere to go earlier than normal in the am- I set out all our books, clothes, and supplies the night before. I even make a pile in the fridge of all the things that need to go in a cold bag. I’ve forgotten things way too many times!
Child for sale. Not true
My 10 year old decided she was going to clean the bathtub. She has never been shown how to clean the bathtub. So she dumped lotion in the tub. Followed by water. Then she took my spray bottle that I only put water in and filled it with lotion and water and sprayed the tub. Afterwards she closed the shower curtain and let everything sit.

I think I was about that age when my brother and I had the best intentions and thought we we help my uncle out by painting part of his truck with the waterproof sealant we had on hand!! “So his car was waterproof!!” I don’t think we lived that down for a LONG LONG TIME.
🌿 Tuesday Morning Jungle Check-In 🌿
We’ve been climbing fast, but now it’s about grip, not speed. It’s easy to add, add, add… but the real power move? Subtract first.🪓 Clear the dead vines.🌱 Make space for what matters.⏳ One minute saved today could stack into whole hours by the end of the week. So let’s get tactical this Tuesday: 👉 When you sit down to plan your day (or week), what’s the first thing you subtract before you add the new “must do’s”? Drop it below 👇 — and let’s remind each other that subtraction is its own kind of action. And, don't forget, new Coffee Break time at 11! 🙃

I’ve been trying to do the cuts in the opposite direction this week. Pulling the things forward that I’ve been avoiding over and over and cutting some of my daily to dos temporarily to catch the other ones up…
🌿 Friday in the Jungle 🌿
Avoidance is sneaky — but here’s the trick: you don’t beat it by staring it down. You replace it. Instead of scrolling → send one text you’ve been putting off. Instead of reorganizing the pantry → load the washer. Instead of overthinking → take one tiny step forward. Action replacement is like swapping out the jungle vines: let go of the one that’s holding you back, grab the one that moves you forward. 💡 What’s one “avoidance action” you’re trading in today?

I’m going to not “wipe down the kitchen” for the third time today and water my plants instead..
